Maybe it went too smoothly–Sophia felt a strange uneasiness gnawing at her.

All she could do now was wait to get the divorce decree, so that she would finally be free of this marriage for good.

Just then, her phone buzzed in her pocket.

Sophia pulled it out and glanced at the screen–it was Billy calling.

“Sophia, I see you’ve started the divorce paperwork…. time to follow through on your end of the deal, isn’t it?” Billy said.

Sophia played dumb. “Mr. Westwood, what exactly did I promise you?”

Billy hadn’t expected Sophia to double–cross him. He barked. “Sophia, you’re going back on your word.”

Walking toward the parking lot, Sophia felt the scorching sunlight blazing down, which made her ache all

over.

“Mr. Westwood, don’t make me out to be some miracle worker. I can’t fix Yadel Group’s PR crisis,” Sophia replied.

She had never planned on fixing the Westwood family’s PR crisis.

I’m not stupid,’ she thought.

Billy spent his whole life playing with people’s hearts, only to be tricked by Sophia in his old age.

The irony almost made him laugh.

“So you really think if you don’t provide a PR strategy, Yadel Group’s going down?” Billy mocked.

“Maybe you will, maybe you won’t. Either way, what does it have to do with me? The divorce agreement spells it out–none of the Westwood family’s assets belong to me, and as for your debts? That’s not my problem. anymore,” Sophia shot back.

All Sophia cared about was the property division in courthouse.

Even if Lucas tried to back out, that property division would still stand in court.

If the Westwood family crashed and burned or drowned in debt, Sophia wouldn’t have to lift a finger for them ever again.

Billy, livid, hurled his phone and dropped onto the couch, breathing heavily out of sheer rage.

He had actually been outsmarted by Sophia.

Kyle watched Billy’s stormy expression and asked, “Mr. Westwood, what should we do now?”

Nobody saw it coming–Sophia had straight–up bailed on them.

“Hire the best marketing team and pay whatever it takes. We can handle this PR crisis without her,” Billy

barked.

“Yes, I’ll get on it right away,” Kyle replied.

Billy leaned back into his executive chair, slowly forcing down his rage. Once he took care of Yadel Group’s crisis, he would make sure Sophia paid for every last thing she owed him.

It was impossible that she could walk away from the Westwood family without a scratch.

“I wish I could have seen Billy’s face–he must have been losing his mind!” Annabelle cackled.

Annabelle shot Sophia a thumbs–up. “Sophie, that’s why I always count on you!”

But Sophia wasn’t nearly as happy as Annabelle.

She had played Billy for a fool, but there was no way the Westwood family would just let her walk away. ‘No chance they’ll let me off that easy. I’d better be ready–there’s a storm coming,‘ she thought.

“Honestly, I hate not being able to get the divorce decree right away–it’s really unfair to you,” Annabelle grumbled.

Annabelle noticed Sophia’s unease. “Sophie, are you worried Lucas might back out then?”

“Yeah, kind of… but there’s still some time left. Worrying about it now just isn’t my thing,” Sophia replied.

Sophia was never one to play it low–key–if she was gonna do this, she would blow it wide open for everyone

to see.

Time to take this to Twitter,‘ she thought.

Sophia said, “Annabelle, you’ve always run my Twitter for me–snap a pic of the divorce papers and post it up, but blur my name out and make sure Lucas’s is front and center.

“And I also took photos of the property division in the divorce papers. Add those in and post them together as a nine–photo grid.”

Sophia was planning to tie this whole divorce drama in with Yadel Group’s PR mess and turn things up so hard that everyone in the country would be talking about it.

Let’s see how Lucas has the guts to back out after all this goes public,‘ she thought.

Annabelle stopped for a second, teasing, “You sure you wanna make this whole divorce a spectacle? What if it ruins your chances of getting married again?”

“One marriage is enough–who would be crazy enough to do it twice?” Sophia said, sounding totally done. “If I ever need a man, I’ll just hire a male model for a day. Marriage? No thanks–I’m never falling for that trap again.”
