Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 249

Richard's eyes fluttered half-shut as he said, "It's okay, Ms. Evans. Just use your hands and press where you think. If it hurts, I'll tell you.”

Sophia curled her fingers, feeling all kinds of nervous. It was easy enough just looking from a distance. But actually putting her hands on him? That was a whole different story, and her brain just couldn't handle it right now.

It's not that Sophia found the idea gross or anything—it was just that this kind of intimacy felt like way too much for the way things were between them.

"Maybe | should go get Jason?" Sophia asked.

She'd barely moved when a big, warm hand closed around her wrist.

Before she could even react, Sophia met Richard's gaze—those eyes were intense enough to stop her in her tracks.

Her heart thudded in her chest, totally out of her control.

"Mr. Sterling, please—just let me go," Sophia stammered.

Richard's Adam's apple bobbed as he fixed her with a predatory stare, dark and hungry—like he wanted to eat her up right then and there.

But Richard knew deep down this just wasn't the right moment.

He forced himself to tamp down the wild rush of desire surging through him—there was no way he'd let himself lose control now.

Steeling himself, Richard finally said, "Go get Jason."

"0-Okay," Sophia stammered, her heart still racing.

Sophia hurriedly slipped her wrist from his grasp and almost stumbled out of the room.

By the time Jason arrived, Richard had already gotten dressed.

Richard shot a glance past Jason, but Sophia was nowhere to be found. Richard felt a stab of self-disgust—he really had freaked her out.

All these years, women had been practically throwing themselves at him, but not a single one had ever made his heart race.

But from the very first moment he saw Sophia, Richard knew exactly what he wanted—and it was her.

That night, Sophia had been completely soaked, standing at the hospital's front desk—so breathtakingly pure, like she'd stepped right out of a painting. She looked so delicate, it was as if a gentle breeze could blow her away.

And for the first time in his life, Richard felt a surge of possessiveness for her he'd never known before.

Back then, he thought she was just passing through his world, someone he'd probably never lay eyes on again.

Turns out, she was actually the one whod saved his father's life.

Thanks to fate weaving them together over and over, Richard kept

finding himself in Sophia's orbit—and with every meeting, his longing for her only burned hotter.

Jason shot Richard a look and asked, "Didn't you just say you weren't

hurt and didn't need the doctor? So why are you suddenly feeling off?"

Richard ignored the question and asked instead, "Where's Sophia?”
