Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 158

Noelle’s face was dark with anger as her gaze landed squarely on her parents. “Dad, Mom, in two days, it’ll be time for Zinnia’s hearing. When that happens, you have to stick to your story—no settlement. Insist that she gets fired and banned from ever working in medicine again. If they don’t agree, we’ll take it to court and ruin her for good.”

Juniper, standing nearby, frowned and hesitated. “But, Landon will definitely take Zinnia’s side. If we refuse to settle, aren’t we just making an enemy of Landon?”

Noelle let out a cold, dismissive laugh. “Landon only defended Zinnia because he saw her performing surgery on my brother with his own eyes—he was momentarily taken in by her act. If he knew how sloppy she really was, that she almost killed my brother, there’s no way he’d blindly protect her.”

She turned her eyes back to her parents, voice steady and calculating. “Besides, if Landon really goes out of his way to shield Zinnia, we’ll make a public scandal out of this. For the sake of Ford Group’s reputation, Landon won’t dare stand by her. In fact…” A sly smile tugged at her lips. “He might even divorce her, just to protect the company’s name.”

“Is that… really possible?” Juniper’s face was clouded with doubt.

“Oh, stop worrying so much. I think Noelle’s idea is solid,” Rosalie snapped, shooting Juniper an impatient look. “Ford Group is a massive corporation—they care about their reputation, especially Old Mr. Ford, Zane. The only reason the Ford family ever agreed to let Zinnia marry in was because she had a stellar education and a respectable job at Veridian University Hospital.”

“Landon never planned on getting married those years. It was Zane pushing him into it, and Zinnia just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Plus, as Zephyr’s student, the Ford family had to show the Locke family some respect.”

Rosalie grew more certain as she spoke. “If Noelle hadn’t been abroad back then, there’s no way Zinnia would’ve become Mrs. Ford.”

“Now, if Landon divorces Zinnia, he’ll be divorced—so what? Our Noelle is still young, never married. The Ford family would be lucky to have her. They’d cherish her, not turn her away.”
