Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 248

Charles nodded firmly.

“Yes, they are indeed Noelle’s parents.”

That’s it.

Now, let’s see what Mr. Ford decides to do.

He lowered his head, hiding the gleam of anticipation in his eyes from Mr. Ford.

For a long moment, the room was silent, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. At last, Landon’s voice broke the stillness, icy and deliberate:

“The Eastside mall project—have we already signed a deal with Infinity Structures Inc.?”

Infinity Structures Inc. was, after all, the Jensen family’s company.

The Jensens had built their fortune in construction materials, and with Landon’s backing in recent years, Infinity Structures Inc. had nearly cornered the entire market. Any major project under the Ford Group’s umbrella sourced almost all its materials from them.

In other words, once Infinity Structures Inc. latched onto the Ford Group, it was as good as striking gold.

Little wonder Noelle clung to Landon for dear life.

At Landon’s question, Charles hurried to reply,

“We signed last week, but the down payment hasn’t gone through yet.”

He stole a careful glance at Landon, unable to guess what his boss would decide.

“Cancel it. Find a new supplier.”

Landon’s tone was as frigid as ever—cold, absolute, and final. The words seemed to freeze the air in the room.

Charles didn’t argue. He knew the Ford Group had propped up the Jensens all these years, and their contracts had always been more of a formality. In fact, Ford Group had gone out of its way to set the penalties for breach of contract laughably low, just to avoid putting too much pressure on Infinity Structures Inc.

No one could have predicted that the one to break the agreement would be the Ford Group.

Charles almost grinned at the thought. The Jensens had probably already stocked up on raw materials for this project. Now, thanks to Ford Group backing out, all that inventory was about to become worthless junk.

“Let the finance department know—we’re not transferring any money to Infinity Structures Inc. Mr. Ford’s decided to pull the plug.”

Yvonne watched Charles’s obvious delight and couldn’t help thinking he looked so giddy, he might just break out into a little dance if he had pigtails.

Meanwhile, at the Jensen residence, Rosalie and Noelle were hosting a small coffee gathering for a few well-to-do ladies.

Ever since Landon had helped Rosalie erase the bad press online, the mother and daughter had been practically walking on air. Their social circle, especially the ladies who liked to cozy up to them, were all eager to use their connection to the Ford Group to get a piece of the action.

Every word out of their mouths was carefully chosen flattery.

“Rosalie, if you ask me, Noelle and Mr. Ford make the perfect couple. I mean, Dr. Quinn is just a regular doctor on a salary—how could he possibly compare?”

“Exactly! I heard Mr. Ford absolutely dotes on Noelle. Anything to do with her, he handles personally. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”

“They say Mr. Ford’s time is so precious, he has to split every minute in half. But if it concerns Noelle, he’s always hands-on. That just proves how much she means to him.”
