Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 265

“He’s ignoring you. You should be looking for him, not me.”

Zinnia’s voice was as calm as ever, completely unaffected.

“What are you so smug about?” Noelle snapped, her anger rising. “If you hadn’t put on that sweet, selfless act in front of Landon, he never would’ve fallen for it!”

She jabbed a finger right at Zinnia’s nose, her voice growing shrill with frustration.

“Don’t think you can keep up the charade for long. I’ll make sure Landon sees exactly what you’re really like.”

Zinnia nodded, unfazed. “Alright. Go ahead. I’m off work now, so if you’ll excuse me, I won’t be entertaining you any longer.”

With that, she gathered up the patient files, stood, and headed toward the door.

But Noelle wasn’t about to let her leave so easily. She moved to block the exit, glaring at Zinnia with a fury that made her look almost unhinged.

“Zinnia, it’s because of your manipulative games that Landon’s treating me so coldly now.”

Just thinking about last night’s party—how Landon, without a hint of mercy, had told her to get out in front of everyone, humiliating her—sent Noelle’s resentment toward Zinnia soaring to new heights.

Zinnia’s brows drew together as she regarded Noelle, whose behavior was bordering on madness. “Then by all means, go tell him the truth about me. Don’t waste my time.”

Noelle was left speechless by Zinnia’s calm, almost indifferent tone.

The more composed Zinnia was, the more convinced Noelle became that Landon had only chosen her because he’d been fooled—Zinnia was simply hiding behind his support to speak to her so boldly.

“Noelle, stop blocking the door. I’m in a hurry.”

Zinnia’s steady demeanor only fed the flames of jealousy burning inside Noelle.

“Zinnia, have you no shame at all?”

“You… You slapped me?”

Force met force. Zinnia’s own palm stung from the blow, and she shook out her hand before meeting Noelle’s murderous glare head-on.

“Feeling a little clearer now?” she asked coolly.

Noelle glared daggers at her, words slipping out through clenched teeth. “I’m going to tell Landon you hit me. You’ll pay for this.”

Zinnia just shrugged, completely unfazed by Noelle’s threat.

“Noelle, I just don’t get it. If you’re so sure Landon loves you, then why won’t he give you a real place in his life? Why are you still stuck with the label of ‘the other woman’?”

She looked genuinely curious, her question sincere and pointed.
