Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 277

“Why did she leave without a word, not even a single explanation?”

The doctor flinched at the look on Landon’s face, quickly trying to reassure him.

“Mr. Ford, please don’t worry. Dr. Quinn is just teaching for a while at Veridian University’s medical school. She’ll be back.”

“She’s gone to Veridian University?”

Landon repeated the words under his breath.

“Yes, the hospital arranged it. Didn’t Dr. Quinn tell you?”

Didn’t Dr. Quinn tell you?

Didn’t Dr. Quinn tell you?

Didn’t Dr. Quinn tell you?

The doctor’s face was perfectly sincere, but the phrase echoed in Landon’s mind, each repetition stinging like mockery.

Of course she didn’t tell him. He’d landed himself in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer, and she hadn’t so much as come to check on him. Why would she let him know she was leaving for work somewhere else?

Charles stood silently at his boss’s side, anxiety etched across his face.

This is bad. Mr. Ford looks like he’s about to fall apart.

That can’t happen! If something happens to Mr. Ford, who’s going to pay Charles’s six-figure salary?

The thought jolted Charles into action. He straightened up and approached Landon.

“Mr. Ford, why don’t you go back to your room and get some rest? I’ll call Mrs. Ford and ask about Dapper for you.”

For once, Landon didn’t protest. He returned to his hospital room in silence.

The moment they stepped inside, he shot Charles a look—eager, almost desperate.

Charles hesitated.

If he didn’t know for a fact that Mr. Ford was straight, he’d seriously start to get the wrong idea from that burning stare.

Suppressing his unease, Charles pulled out his phone and dialed Zinnia.

“Uh?”

Charles scratched his head and replied bluntly, “Maybe because I always treat her with respect.”

If you don’t treat your wife like a wife, who do you have to blame but yourself for being jealous now?

Landon fell silent, stung by the truth in Charles’s words.

Just then, someone knocked at the door.

Richie walked in, greeting Landon politely.

“Hello, Mr. Ford.”

He handed Charles a phone.

“Charles, the tech team fixed Mr. Ford’s old phone and recovered some of the deleted data.”

“Thanks, Richie. Appreciate it.” Charles clapped Richie on the shoulder, signaling he could leave.
