Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 315

Thinking back to that night, when Landon had looked up at the sky and sworn he’d make things right with Dapper and handle the Jensen family, Zinnia couldn’t help but find it ridiculous.

Thank goodness she hadn’t believed him again.

Otherwise, she’d be the punchline of her own joke—one more time.

Yuri, unaware this was what weighed on Zinnia’s mind, caught the edge in her voice. His eyes dimmed a little as he asked quietly, “Are you still bothered by how Landon keeps defending Noelle?”

“Of course.”

Lost in her own thoughts, Zinnia didn’t notice the heaviness in Yuri’s tone and answered without much care.

If Landon kept shielding Noelle, then her efforts to send Rosalie to prison would inevitably fall apart.

Yuri said nothing, pressing his lips together as he watched her with a complicated look.

Suddenly, something occurred to Zinnia. She looked up at Yuri and asked, “So, what brings you to Veridian University? Did you find a new job?”

Yuri quickly hid the sadness in his eyes and nodded with a smile. “Yeah, I landed it before I came back.”

“Really? Where are you teaching?”

Yuri grinned, hands in his pockets, but didn’t answer.

A lightbulb went on in Zinnia’s mind, and her eyes lit up. “Wait—are you here at Veridian University too?”

He nodded. “Teaching neurosurgery.”

Zinnia’s face broke into a genuine smile. “Well, looks like we’re colleagues now! I just transferred over from the hospital to teach cardiothoracic surgery.”

A smile slowly spread at the corners of Yuri’s eyes. “Looks like fate’s at work, huh?”

Zinnia simply nodded, noncommittal but pleased.

“I’ve got my first class this morning, so I’m heading to the office,” Yuri said.

“Alright. Good luck.”

“It’s your first day teaching—go on, we’ll look after Dapper,” one of her colleagues urged.

Zinnia gathered her lesson materials, crouched to give Dapper a gentle reminder. “Be good and wait for me, okay?”

With everything ready, she headed out of the office—and nearly walked straight into Yuri, who was carrying an insulated bag.

“Still got a little time. Eat breakfast first,” he said, holding the bag out to her.

Zinnia blinked, suddenly realizing she’d meant to grab breakfast earlier, but Noelle’s sudden appearance had completely thrown her off.

“Thanks. How did you know I skipped breakfast?”

She didn’t bother with formalities, taking the food from Yuri’s hands.

“Maybe…” He paused deliberately, a playful glint in his eyes. “Having Cozy around taught me a thing or two about Cozy.”

He lowered his voice, the hint of a smile curling his lips.
