Chapter 174
Reynaldo suddenly stood up.
He looked down on me and sneered, “Speaking of which, you work so hard, why didn’t your boyfriend come to comfort you?”
“I’ll say it again, he wasn’t my boyfriend!” I growled angrily.
Reynaldo sneered.
Bennett came running–over, panting, holding bread and milk. Seeing Reynaldo, he quickly and respectfully called out, “Boss.”
Finally, he glanced at me again and said to Reynaldo, “Boss, don’t worry, I have been keeping an eye on her and won’t let her slack off.”
After Bennett finished speaking, he threw the bread and milk at me.
I was so hungry that I didn’t care about them anymore. I opened the bread and started eating.
I guess I looked a bit unattractive while eating, Bennett clicked his tongue at me twice, and then quickly asked Reynaldo to sit on the chair.
Reynaldo leaned back in his chair, smiling as he watched me devour the bread hungrily.
After a while, he leaned in and whispered something into Bennett’s ear, but I couldn’t hear from where I was.
Before long, Bennett walked towards me.
Chapter 174
“Ah!”
Bennett kicked me on the foot and said, “Just now the boss said that as long as you are willing to give in and say that you can’t handle this job, our boss will give you a way out and not punish you.”
I passed by him and looked at Reynaldo.
The man lazily sat in the chair, smoking a cigarette, with a perpetual smirk of derision on his lips.
“Hey, I was talking to you!” Bennett kicked me in the foot again.
I looked up at him and said softly, “Tell him that I can do this job.”
Bennett furrowed his brow and said, “I didn’t realize you were so cunning, deliberately rejecting the boss’s kind offer to get his attention.”
But it’s not me saying this to you, the big boss finally wants to give you a chance, I advise you to take it and stop while you’re ahead.
“There are still so many useless bricks here, be careful not to exhaust yourself.”
“Thank you for Bennett’s concern.”
“Who, who cares about you, you shameless woman,” Bennett exclaimed angrily, his face wrinkled with frustration.
He said, “You, being such a person, really deserve it!”
With that, he ran back and told Reynaldo.
Reynaldo tugged at his lips towards me, then got up and left.
I sneered at his back as he walked away.
