too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 485

Lila stared at the business card for a few seconds before finally reaching out to take it.

Faith nodded. "Sorry for the disturbance. See you."

As Faith left, Lila stood for a moment before preparing to leave.

A voice called out from behind. "Lila."

She quickly stuffed the business card into her pocket before turning around.

Michael eyed her suspiciously. "What are you hiding? Is it food? Let me have a bite."

"You're about to join the production crew. No more snacking! I'll tell your agent if I catch you." Lila kept her hand in her pocket.

Matthew, who was usually quiet, unexpectedly spoke up. "Did you just run into some trouble?"

He had been watching from a distance and felt the tense atmosphere between Lila and that woman.

Unfortunately, the woman had left before he and Michael could get close.

"No," Lila said. "She's just a friend. We were just chatting."

Matthew glanced at her and nodded silently.

But his suspicion grew.

He wouldn't have thought much of it if Lila hadn't made an excuse. But her explanation almost seemed like she was trying to cover something up.

"Matthew, you didn't major in acting. Even though you've been learning from a coach, you're still new to this. You should ask for help when you can," Lila muttered.

Her gaze shifted to Michael, who was afraid she might rat him out. She smirked and pointed at him. "You two seem pretty close lately. You can ask him any questions."

After all, Michael had already won an award for his acting.

Michael grinned. "We're brothers. Of course, we have a great bond."

Brothers?

Lila paused before realizing they were referring to the fact that both of their names started with the letter "M".

Lila laughed. "Just learn acting from him. But don't pick up anything else. Now go home and rest. Make sure to study the script during your break."

Matthew nodded. As he watched Lila drive away, he finally spoke. "Ms. Hart seems to have something on her mind."

Michael's playful expression faded. "I noticed too. But don't stress over things you can't control. Just focus on your work and don't cause her any trouble."

That night, Lila found herself flipping Faith's business card, lost in thought.

On the day Kieran returned, Lila happened to finish work early in the afternoon and drove herself to the airport to pick him up along with Cole.

Both of them had dark circles under their eyes, indicating they hadn't gotten much rest in the past few days.

As Lila exited the car to help with the luggage, Kieran pulled her into his arms instead.

He pressed a soft kiss on her lips, expressing how much he had missed her these past few days.

Lila hugged him tightly in return.
