too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 529

Faith lowered her gaze. Her eyes were filled with determination when she looked up again. "Our mother-daughter relationship ends here."

Beatrice felt her heart drop. She looked at Faith in disbelief. "You're cutting ties with me?"

"Yes, I'm cutting ties with you," Faith muttered. "Not just with you, but also with Dennis and everyone in the Moore family."

"Aren't you after Moore Group?" Beatrice's throat went dry, and she couldn't believe her ears.

Her obedient daughter, who always sought her love and approval, was now severing their relationship.

"Yes." Faith nodded. "Moore Group is mine for the taking. It was rightfully mine all along. Everyone knows that Moore Group wouldn't be where it is today without me."

Faith bent down, picked up the handbag that had fallen on the floor, and handed it back to Beatrice.

Her lower back was still in pain and she nearly broke out in cold sweat.

Beatrice's hands trembled as she took the bag, yet she still tried to maintain the authority of a mother. "You're being reckless. I'll wait for you to calm down, and then we'll talk again."

Without giving Faith any chance to respond, she continued, "Your father has already brought that bastard child back. You need to find a way to deal with him."

After saying this, Beatrice glanced at Faith's indifferent expression, feeling a wave of unease. She clutched her handbag and quickly left.

Faith didn't stay much longer and also walked out.

It was lunchtime at the film set.

Michael nudged Amelia. "What did you say to Lila earlier? She's been distracted during her free time."

"Nothing much. I just told her that the Moore family might take action soon and that she should be careful." Amelia observed Michael, whose face was thick with makeup for his role, and whose hair had been cut short. His entire demeanor now appeared more rugged and resolute.

The more she thought about it, the less she understood. It wasn't as if they would threaten Kieran using her safety, right? If that were their plan, then the Moore family was out of their mind.

Amelia and Michael both shook their heads. They couldn't comprehend this outdated way of handling things. There were laws set in place. Why were these people still acting like criminals?

After they finished eating, the three sat, lost in thought.

Just then, an assistant ran over. "Ms. Hart, someone is here to see you."

Lila looked up. "Me? Did they say who they were?"

"The person didn't say, but he's tall and quite good-looking. But he isn't from the industry. I don't recognize him," the assistant replied.

Lila thought for a moment. "Bring him over."

The assistant nodded and turned to fetch the visitor.
