Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 100

Everyone in Crownport knew she despised Isabella. If she refused, the story would spread that she was small-minded and vindictive. Isabella knew she would say no. That was the entire point. Liliana looked up and saw Isabella watching her with a perfectly innocent smile.

Liliana pulled her lips into a cool smirk. "Mr. Foster has his own reasons for choosing his students," she said calmly. "We haven't been in touch for a long time, so I have no say in the matter. You'd be better off asking your brother for help than me."

She refused to take the bait, neatly tossing the problem back to where it belonged. If Isabella was going to use Linton to attack her, then Linton could deal with the fallout himself. He had made this mess; he could clean it up. Don't bother her with it.

Isabella was visibly surprised that Liliana had deflected so easily. Recovering quickly, she turned back to Mr. Foster. "Professor Foster, I came here today with the sincerest wish to study under you. As a birthday gift, I have designed a piece of jewelry especially for you."

Mr. Foster's sharp old eyes moved between Liliana and Isabella, and he quickly pieced together the dynamic between them. He let out a polite chuckle, his tone kind but firm. "Thank you for your kindness, Miss Rowe. I will certainly take a look when I have the time. For now, it's getting late. Let the banquet begin. We can discuss other matters some other time."
