Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 142

Linton’s face suddenly went cold. He grabbed his suit jacket and stood up, already heading for the door. "Send me the details."

Lucas was stunned. "Mr. Cooper, the meeting..."

"The meeting is adjourned," Linton said coolly without turning back. "Whatever it is, it can wait until I return."

Lucas was speechless. The meeting they were in concerned a three-billion-dollar project. And Mr. Cooper was walking away from it without a second thought, all to chase after his fiancée.

He would never understand the world of the ultra-rich.

Lucas glanced at the bewildered board members, who were now staring at each other in confusion, and offered an awkward smile.

"That concludes today's meeting. Mr. Cooper has to leave the country unexpectedly. We will reconvene upon his return!"

Linton strode briskly toward the underground parking garage.

As he hurried, he checked for flights. The business class was sold out, so he booked a seat in economy.

He was determined to get on the same plane as Liliana, no matter what.

After purchasing the ticket, he got in his car, ready to race to the airport. Before he left, he glanced at the photo Mrs. Cooper had sent one more time.

The lighting was poor, and the angle made it hard to see their expressions clearly. But it was impossible for Linton to miss the deep, yearning affection in Aiden's eyes as he looked at Liliana.

Others might not have noticed, but as a man, Linton recognized it instantly. Aiden's gaze was fervent yet cautious, intense yet tender, as if he was afraid the girl before him would discover his feelings.

Linton let out a bitter, humorless laugh, the corner of his thin lips twisting into a cold sneer.

His face suddenly turned grim. He clenched his fist and slammed it against the steering wheel, causing the car horn to blare.

"Damn it!"

Linton gritted his teeth, his jaw tightening.

A dark, murderous rage simmered in his eyes.
