Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 155

Linton kept his head lowered, his hands never ceasing their task.

He remained bent over, a man accustomed to being on top of the world now bowing his head, painstakingly collecting the crushed daisy petals from the floor.

With red-rimmed eyes, Linton said in a choked voice, “If you don’t like daisies, Liliana, I’ll get you something else.”

“What about roses? I hear girls love blue roses. Or do you prefer lilies? Daffodils? Hyacinths?”

Liliana’s brow furrowed in annoyance. She looked down at him coldly, then ground her heel into the petals once more. “I told you to stop. Don’t you understand English?”

Linton stubbornly maintained his stooped posture.

He gathered all the flowers back into the bouquet, his eyes bloodshot. “Whatever flower you want, Liliana, I’ll search the ends of the earth to find it for you.”

Her voice took on a sharper edge of impatience; she felt a violent urge to bang her head against the wall. “I don’t want them! I said I don’t want anything!”

Linton re-wrapped the flowers and stood up. His eyes locked onto hers, his tone doting and eerily calm.

“If you don’t like flowers, I’ll get you jewelry. You like jade, don’t you? I’ll take you on a trip to pick out the finest stones.”

Liliana stared at him, her gaze like ice. “Unblock my social media accounts. I’m going to announce that our engagement is off, and I want the whole world to know!”

Linton’s entire body went rigid. He looked at her with a gentle smile. “Didn’t you used to say you wanted to travel, Liliana? I’ll take you to Verlice. You love boating, and the scenery there is perfect.”

He was completely deflecting.

Liliana thought he had lost his mind.

And she was about to lose hers.

Liliana’s lips curved into a smile, her eyes suddenly becoming unnervingly calm.

She enunciated each word with cold precision. “Lift the restrictions. Let me announce that our engagement is over.”

“Otherwise, I will jump out of that window right now. Try me.”

Linton’s dark pupils contracted violently.

His handsome face twisted in agony, on the verge of collapse. He took a deep, shuddering breath before speaking, his voice trembling.

“Liliana, do you have to be so extreme?”
