Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 171

Liliana was being kept by Linton in a secluded house abroad.

He had bought a two-story villa in the suburbs just for her. It was fully furnished, move-in ready. An offer she couldn't refuse.

Liliana sat on the edge of the bed in the master bedroom, her gaze cold as she looked down at him. "Let me out," she said, her voice low and firm.

"Liliana."

Linton knelt to change her shoes into slippers. His head was bowed, and his voice, usually as cool and crisp as fresh snow, was now gentle and deeply affectionate. "I'll make you beef stew for dinner tonight, with lots of potatoes, just how you like. And I'll whip up a batch of cream of mushroom soup."

"I said, let me out," she bit out. "Are you deaf?"

His hands moved with a tender grace as he slipped the soft, white bunny slippers onto her feet. His deep, almond-shaped eyes overflowed with affection. "If there's anything else you want to eat, just tell me. I'll make it all for you."

He continued, completely ignoring her demand. "Or we could go out tomorrow. I could take you to the coast. I hear the seafood here is incredible. Is there anything you're craving?"

A sharp frown creased Liliana's brow, a wave of irritation washing over her.

He was doing it again—his classic one-sided conversation. He only heard what he wanted to hear, only said what he wanted to say, completely talking past her.

Fueled by frustration, she lifted her foot and kicked hard at his knee. "Get out!" she seethed through clenched teeth.

Linton caught her small, fair foot in one hand, smiling gently as he pressed it against his heart. "I'm not getting out," he murmured, his cool, sexy voice dangerously calm, hinting at a quiet madness beneath the surface.
