Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 177

Forced to swallow the chowder, Liliana felt a wave of nausea.

The kiss left her face flushed and her lips, tender and bruised from the ferocity of his assault, felt as if he wanted to devour her whole.

Tears welled in the corners of her eyes. She couldn't breathe, and her small hands pushed weakly against his broad, warm chest.

Linton, his eyes still closed, wasn't finished. He was like a parched traveler dying of thirst, and she was the only rain that could save him.

He was a desert finally meeting the storm.

He reluctantly opened his eyes, a fiery desire burning in their depths. A smile played on his lips. His cool voice was now laced with a raw heat. "Liliana..."

A sharp crack echoed through the room. Linton's other cheek now bore the fresh sting of a slap.

He kept his head turned to the side, his messy hair obscuring the dark, unreadable emotion on his face.

Liliana furiously wiped at her swollen lips, tears of rage streaming down her face. "Linton, you're a goddamn animal!" she cried. "Get out! Just get out!"

Her emotions were in turmoil. She felt like she was suffocating, unable to catch her breath.

Linton stared, stunned, as Liliana's face suddenly drained of all color. Her chest heaved violently as she gasped for air. She looked like a poor, stranded fish, suffocating on the shore.
