Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 184

Liliana glanced up at the IV bag hanging above her.

It was more than halfway empty.

She subconsciously placed a hand over her still-flat belly and, after a long pause, gave an almost imperceptible nod. “Okay.”

A smile broke across Linton’s face.

He looked down at her belly with a burning intensity, his expression a complex mix of emotions that was impossible to decipher. He fought to suppress the turmoil of excitement and anxiety in his heart, cautiously reaching out a hand, wanting to touch the child that belonged to them both.

Just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket. His outstretched hand froze. He pulled out his phone instead, his voice softening as he spoke to Liliana. “Liliana, just stay here and rest. I need to take this call outside.”

Liliana kept her eyes closed, neither looking at him nor responding. To her, he was just air, an entity that didn't exist. There was no one named Linton in her world. Linton’s lips trembled for a moment before he gritted his teeth, stood up, and walked out with his phone.

The hospital room fell silent again.

Liliana slowly opened her eyes. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her fingers resting on her belly.

To be honest, she had never planned to tell Linton about the pregnancy.

No, to be more precise, if it hadn't been for this accident—if he hadn't provoked her to the point where the stress put the baby at risk and landed her in the hospital—she probably would have kept the secret from him for the rest of her life.

But maybe this was for the best.

Liliana glanced in the direction Linton had gone, a flicker of light in her eyes.
