Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 235

Liliana stiffened, utterly stunned into silence. It took her a long moment to process his words.

Finally, her lips parted. "Aiden..." she breathed.

Aiden just laughed, his tone gentle as he soothed her. "Alright, I'm not going to pressure you. I was just teasing. Don't take it to heart. Just focus on your pregnancy, and stop letting that little head of yours run wild with worries. Take care of yourself."

His voice, as warm and clear as a mountain spring, seemed to possess a magical quality that could calm the soul. He never pushed Liliana; he only ever pushed himself. Pushed himself to be patient, to retreat, to wait. He respected all of Liliana's decisions and couldn't bear to see her suffer even the slightest bit of distress.

After hanging up, Aiden let out a long sigh. It was just as he thought. Even with a storm of emotions raging inside him, he still couldn't bring himself to force her to face something she didn't want to.

Liliana's feelings were even more tangled now. She could sense that Aiden hadn't been joking. He was serious.

Suddenly, the whole world felt surreal, as if someone had hit the fast-forward button, leaving her scrambling to keep up. First, there was Liam's out-of-the-blue confession. Then, Linton reported Isabella for murder, sending her to the police for questioning. And now, Aiden, her friend of many years, had just revealed his feelings.

Liliana felt utterly lost. Her life was changing too much, too quickly. She hadn't even prepared herself to deal with the last problem before the next one came crashing down, giving her no room to breathe.

She lowered her gaze, slumping dejectedly against the giant teddy bear. She curled her small body into a ball, instinctively nuzzling her head against the bear's fluffy belly.
