Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 258

Gabriel, “...”

He had been sitting there watching TV, minding his own business, and suddenly he was getting an earful for no reason.

He almost laughed out of sheer frustration.

Fine.

Gabriel didn't argue back. He resignedly rolled up the sleeves of his sweater, and got up to get ingredients from the refrigerator.

In his family, his mom and sister were the universe. The men of the Hart family were just blades of grass.

Gabriel bent down to search the fridge for something his sister would like to eat, asking casually, “Where’s Liliana?”

“Everyone’s home, why isn’t she down yet? She’s so quiet today. Is she asleep?”

Mr. Hart didn’t think much of it. “Your mother said she’s tired and resting in her room.”

Gabriel’s slender fingers paused. He looked up and noticed that many of the fridge magnets were gone.

Liliana loved to travel, and one of her favorite souvenirs to collect was local novelty magnets. She used to be clingy, always insisting that Linton go with her on every trip. Each of those magnets, bought as a memento, held a piece of their carefree, happy memories from their youth.

Liliana was usually so protective of them; she stuck them on the fridge and wouldn't let anyone touch them. Anyone who did would get an earful.

Now... they were all gone.

The refrigerator door was bare, looking strangely empty and unfamiliar.

Following Gabriel's gaze, Mr. Hart looked over, surprised. “Elizabeth, does the fridge look a bit... off to you?”

It seemed like something was missing. But being rather unobservant, Mr. Hart couldn’t immediately put his finger on what.

Mrs. Hart looked over as well, but remained silent after a moment.
