Liliana watched her with a calm expression, her brow furrowing slightly.
She had been about to leave.
But now, for some reason, seeing Isabella’s deranged state—laughing, crying, her entire demeanor unsettling—Liliana found herself hesitating.
After a moment, she couldn’t stop herself from asking, “Isabella, what you just said...”
“What exactly did you mean?”
At her words, Isabella’s laughter abruptly ceased.
Her face was slick with tears, which, combined with her gaunt, lusterless skin and fine wrinkles, made her look truly terrifying.
With a blank expression, she shot a cold glance at Liliana’s pregnant belly, her voice barely a whisper. “If you want to know, go and see for yourself.”
She seemed exhausted, her voice so faint it was almost devoid of energy. “It’s at the Grayson estate... in Matthew’s study.”
“His computer is there. You know the password. Go see for yourself.”
Isabella paused, her eyes narrowing as she stared at Liliana, lost in thought. A dazed look came over her as she muttered, as if to herself, “Go see... go and see for yourself...”
“Once you see what’s on that computer... you’ll understand everything...”
“...”
Liliana’s brow furrowed deeper at her words.
She opened her mouth, about to ask another question, but when her gaze fell on Isabella’s pale, weary face, she swallowed the words.
After a moment’s thought, she turned to leave.
Just before she walked away, she glanced back one last time at the gaunt woman sitting behind the glass, her expression vacant and dazed.
“Isabella, I’ll say it again,” Liliana said, her tone calm and steady. “This is a police station. The truth will always come out.”
“Even if you don’t say anything, someone will find out eventually.”
