Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 325

Liliana was discharged from the hospital soon after.

Her check-up revealed nothing seriously wrong, but the doctor warned her to avoid emotional distress and control her moods, for her own sake and the baby’s.

Liliana nodded in agreement. Gabriel picked her up, and the car ride home was silent. She seemed withdrawn, her expression vacant and lost.

Her eyes were empty, as if she was in a daze, her thoughts miles away.

Gabriel glanced at her in the rearview mirror, his lips tightening into a thin line. His usually cool voice was tinged with guilt. “Liliana, I’m sorry...”

“I... I never meant to hide it from you.”

Liliana's ears twitched. Her reaction was slow, and it was a long moment before she gave a distracted nod. “...Mm.”

Gabriel fell silent.

He pressed his lips together more firmly and let out a nearly inaudible sigh of frustration.

In the days that followed, Liliana remained at home, lost in a perpetual daze. No one knew what she was thinking.

Mrs. Hart watched the small figure lying silently in the rocking chair on the balcony, pacing back and forth in the living room, her eyes red with worry.

“What are we going to do... What are we going to do?”

“Seeing Liliana like this... I’m so afraid something is really wrong with her.”

She looked at Gabriel, who was standing nearby, and grabbed his arm, giving him a little push. “Gabriel, you’re her brother. She always listens to you.”

“Go talk to your sister. It’s not right for her to be in a daze like this all the time. It’s... it’s not good for her, or the baby.”

Gabriel felt helpless. He frowned deeply. “Mom, I’ve tried. It’s no use.”
