"Logan, that's enough!"
Isabella quickly covered his mouth, then looked up with an apologetic expression. "Liliana," she said softly, "please don't take it to heart. Logan is still young. Don't stoop to the level of a three-year-old. Just let it go."
Liliana paused.
She glanced over and saw Linton coolly raise his hand to pat Logan's little head. "Don't call her the mean lady," he said in a low voice. "Call her Auntie Liliana."
"But Daddy…"
Logan whined, clearly displeased. "She's not my aunt! I don't want her near you! Daddy belongs to Mommy!"
"Logan!"
Isabella frowned sharply, then added with a self-reproachful look, "It's all my fault. I haven't taught Logan properly, letting him mistake my brother for his father."
"It's fine."
Liliana raised an eyebrow and smiled. "If he enjoys calling you that, let him. After all, I'm not the one with the weird brother-sister thing going on."
"I just wonder what the Grayson family would think, knowing their only grandson calls another man 'Daddy' all day."
Liliana's smile was radiant, but her eyes were like ice.
Her lips curled in a mocking sneer. "If Matthew could see this from beyond the grave, watching you let his son call your brother 'Dad' before his body is even cold… I wonder if he'd come back to life from sheer rage?"
"Liliana!"
Mrs. Cooper slammed her hand on the table, her voice shaking with fury. "How dare you speak like that!"
"You know perfectly well that Isabella is still grieving the loss of her husband! She already suffers from depression, and you're deliberately bringing up a sore subject! You're just trying to trigger a relapse, aren't you? You vicious woman!"
Isabella's face went pale. She looked weak and fragile, forcing a faint smile. "Mom, I'm fine. If Liliana wants to say these things, just let her."
"I know she and my brother are going through a rough patch right now. She hates me. If yelling at me a little makes her feel better and helps her make up with him, then I'm happy to take it."
Liliana's eye twitched. She let out a cold laugh. "Isabella, if you're sick, go get treatment instead of sitting here playing the victim."
"Liliana!"
