Chapter 104: Day One of Training

Chapter One Hundred and Four

Ahmet sat across from the man, drumming his fingers against the table. This was getting tedious. They hadn’t gone through the trouble of kidnapping him just to watch him sleep. He should have woken up by now.

A low, muffled hum broke the silence.

"Hmmm... hmmm... hmmm."

Ahmet’s gaze flicked to the bound figure, whose face remained hidden beneath the cloth. Finally.

Ahmet flicked his fingers, signaling his man to remove the cloth and tape from the captive’s mouth.

"What the hell? Who are y—" The man’s voice caught as his eyes adjusted to the light. "Ahmet?" Disbelief filled in his tone. "What is the meaning of this?"

Ahmet had heard about him, that he never feared a damned thing. That he’d still run his mouth with a gun pointed to his head.

He liked him.

Ahmet offered a small, and amused smile. "Apologies for the... unconventional invitation."

"Invitation my ass. Untie me. Right now!" the man barked, his anger flaring.

Ahmet sighed, shaking his head. "I was considering it... but unfortunately for you, I do not take orders well. And now, I have changed my mind."

Ahmet leaned forward, his voice steady, but deliberate, trying to intimidate him.

But knowing a man like him, that wouldn’t work. And the more he thought of it, the more he wanted him.

"You do realize that I do not owe this Villa my loyalty? I don’t belong to your family, nor do I follow your rules. So let me be clear— if you so much as lay a finger on me, I will come back and burn this place to the ground. Believe me." Cole’s eyes were sharp, as his threat sounded determined.

Ahmet chuckled. "Stop being dramatic, Cole. Let’s skip the pretense. Asli accused you wrongly. She asked you to leave the Villa. That’s unacceptable. You deserve better than that. You’ve served the Villa all your life only to be treated like a thief. But here, that is not how we do things. We care for everyone. I want you on my team."

Cole scoffed. "Keep wanting."

"Deviant," Ahmet mused, shaking his head. "Just like your boss, Asli..."

And as if the name coming from Ahmet’s mouth was forbidden, Cole yelled, "Clear off."

Ahmet leaned back, his smirk growing. "You do know that just as I have extended this invitation, so will every other organization. They will want you. And they won’t stop until they have you. They will kill you afterwards. You know that. Pick the wise option. Work with me. Not for me."

If not for Ahmet’s quick reflexes, Cole’s spit would have landed right on his face.

"Go burn in hell," Cole growled.

Ahmet’s smile didn’t waver. His voice dropped to a low whisper. "Cole... I am hell."

"I know." He responded and damn, Ahmet wanted him the most.

*********

Markus was the first to arrive at the training room. He had never trained a female before. Let alone one that isn’t in the business. Matilda had never held a gun, how was he supposed to train her?

Yet, he did not say no when Asli had asked him to train her. She had never asked him to do anything out of duty before so he wanted to do this one.

Not to impress her but well, he knew she thought he didn’t know how to fight.

Oh how he couldn’t wait to show her how wrong she was.

Hopefully Matilda would be a fast learner. And fighting, came with rules, which she had broken a few.

One, a fighter was never late. Two, he or she dressed like he was ready for a fight.

Matilda was not only late, but she was dressed like she was going ballet dancing.

"Sorry I’m late. I was helping my aunt prepare..."

"I don’t need to know. Just be early next time." He dismissed as he pointed to her outfit. "Is this the best you have?"

"The first time we were supposed to meet, I wore one of Asli’s dresses but you cancelled. If you wanted to see me in a cute outfit..."

"Never mind." He mentioned, stopping her from speaking anymore.
