When I returned, Ferris hadn’t gone to rest yet.
He was wearing dark sleepwear, sitting on the sofa with his deep gaze fixed on me.
“Did you have fun today?”
“It was okay,” I replied dismissively.
Ferris stood up, his tall figure instantly blocking most of the light in front of me.
“I heard from Ashley that you want to sell me for one billion?” He laughed in anger. “Am I only worth one billion?”
I was taken aback. This guy clearly knew everything, so why was he still asking me?
“I didn’t.”
“Really?” Ferris leaned down toward me.
I couldn’t help but step back: “First, you should know that Ashley and I don’t get along. How could I possibly ask her for one billion to sell you? Also, when your mother gave me checks before, I didn’t accept them. Why would I go through this trouble now?”

After hearing my words, Ferris didn’t respond, and I couldn’t tell if he believed me or not.
“Is there anything else?” I had been backed against the wall.
Ferris looked at my cautious appearance, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly. His eyes were unfathomably deep, like the sea before a storm.
“Aurora,” his voice was low and restrained, “do you know how much your current appearance makes me want to bite you?”
My heart jolted, and before I could react, he suddenly reached out and pressed his hand against the wall beside me, trapping me between him and the wall.
The heat from his body, wrapped in the night, hit me head–on, making it almost impossible to breathe.
I turned my head slightly, avoiding his burning gaze.
“Ferris, I’m very tired.”
“Do you think I’m not tired?” he said in a low voice, with a barely perceptible exhaustion in his tone. “These days, I’ve been busy and overwhelmed, and I still have to guard against you running away at any moment.”

Chapter 117
“I’m not trying to run away.” I argued quietly.
“But you’ve never stayed,” Ferris’s voice suddenly turned cold. “You’re always thinking about leaving.”
I fell silent. Yes, from the beginning, I never intended to give myself to this dangerous man, no matter how powerful, charming, and irresistible he was.
Seeing my silence, his expression grew darker.
“Do you have even a shred of sincerity toward me?”
My eyelashes trembled, but I couldn’t speak.
Ferris looked at me and suddenly smiled–a light laugh that was more alarming than anger.
“I understand.”
He abruptly stepped back, his gaze cold as if he had never cared for me: “Go to sleep. Don’t dream about setting prices anymore, because you don’t deserve to negotiate terms.”
My heart tightened.
But before I could speak, he had already turned and gone upstairs, his back as heavy and lonely as cold iron.
Before going to bed that night, my phone rang. It was Adrian calling.
