I noticed the probing look in his eyes, my tone also turning cold: “I told her that yesterday you abandoned me to see Ashley. Is that acceptable?”

Ferris’s peripheral vision caught my unnatural expression, but he didn’t continue questioning.

I stepped back, avoiding his burning gaze: “I’m going to freshen up.”

After just two steps, he suddenly grabbed my hand from behind, holding me tightly. His breathing was hot and heavy against my ear: “Let’s continue.”

I froze completely.

I stood still, not moving.

a few seconds, then finally turned and walked toward me.

“Get dressed, we’re going out.” He said.

I was stunned: “Where to?”

“Didn’t you say before that you wanted to see the ocean?” He answered.

I was surprised he still remembered.

“I’ve already seen the ocean.” I said flatly, “With another man.”

The day he left me to choose Ashley, Adrian had taken me to see the ocean. That’s when I discovered I didn’t necessarily need Ferris to accompany me to the ocean to be happy.

He paused slightly, as if choked by those words, then thought for a moment, “Then… let’s go see cherry blossoms.”

I glanced at him, my eyes carrying a cold indifference that couldn’t bear to be exposed: “It’s autumn now, there are no cherry blossoms.”

The air suddenly fell silent, even the wind outside the window was unusually clear.

I could see his momentary bewilderment, as if he had realized something.
