Chapter 176
I looked at the courtyard in the distance, Camilla’s words still echoing in my ears like an invisible thread pulling me, and I walked in as if possessed.
The courtyard was clean and tidy, with the fragrant scent of osmanthus flowers wafting from under the trees. That smell was too familiar, familiar enough to make me somewhat dazed. I knew I must have been here before, but it was probably too long ago–I had forgotten.
As a child, I had followed my father to visit the Vargan family, and I seemed to have really played under this osmanthus tree.
I stood under the tree for a long time, then looked up at the vermillion wooden house not far away, walking toward it step by step, reaching out to push open the door.
“Creak-”
The door slowly opened under my push. Inside it was dim and quiet, as if it sealed away some memory that was unwilling to be mentioned.
All the furniture and decorations in the house were covered with white cloth. I frowned, not knowing what exactly Camilla wanted me to see.
I walked forward and casually pulled away a piece of white cloth.
“Clang!”
Something fell to the floor.
I looked down and saw it was a picture frame.
I bent down to pick it up, and the moment I saw the front clearly, I froze completely.
It was a group photo.
Two almost identical children stood side by side, one cold and expressionless, the other smiling warmly with gentle eyes.
Below the photo was a line of small text: “Elder brother Ferris Vargan, younger brother Dennis Vargan.”
Ferris… Dennis…
My heart suddenly began beating rapidly, and an inexplicable panic seized me.
I hurriedly pulled away more white cloths and found several more photos.

Chapter 176
This time they were adult photos.
In the photo, the man on the right wore a suit with a cold expression; the man on the left wore casual clothes with gentle eyes as before.
Although the two looked exactly the same, standing together, the difference in temperament was obvious–they were not the same person.
Below the photo, it similarly read: “Ferris&Dennis.”
I could barely stand steady.
The cold one on the right was Ferris, and the gentle one… was his twin brother?
My mind felt like it had been struck by something, going completely blank.
I had always thought I liked Ferris from beginning to end. How could I have… mistaken the person?
My fingers trembled slightly as I clutched the photo tightly, wanting to search for more clues. But just then, I heard footsteps and conversation from outside the door.
Startled, I quickly left through the back door.
Rain fell softly, wetting my long hair and making me feel cold, but I couldn’t care about that.
I ran all the way, my heartbeat like a drum–I had to find Ferris and ask him clearly.
Why had I never known he had a twin brother?
In the distance, the lights of the banquet appeared in the night.
I quickened my pace, walking toward them.
At this moment, on the second–floor balcony, Camilla held a glass of red wine, quietly watching the direction I had left, the corners of her mouth slightly rising.
“It seems I guessed correctly.”
She gently set down the wine glass and also turned to walk toward the banquet hall.
The banquet hall was brilliantly lit and filled with laughter. Guests were toasting each other in a peaceful atmosphere.
