Almost everyone noticed something was wrong with him.

The usually immaculate man had become disheveled, even sporting some stubble.

A maid came out of his room, holding a ring in her hand with glee in her eyes,

Suddenly Ferris blocked her path: “What are you holding?”

Seeing that he had discovered her, the maid quickly knelt down in fear.

“I’m sorry, Alpha Ferris, I didn’t mean to steal anything. I found this ring under the pillow when I was tidying the bedding.”

Ferris looked at the ordinary diamond ring in her hand, unable to remember whose it was for a moment.

“This ring…”

“It should be Miss Aurora’s,” the maid said.

Ferris’s heart contracted as he took the ring and saw the scratches on it.

His throat felt bitter as he gripped the ring tightly.

“Miss Aurora.” The servant, fearing Ferris’s anger, explained, “Everyone has always s called her that.”

Aurora was right – indeed, no one here treated her as Mrs. Vargan, his Luna.

Ferris stood frozen in place.

The maid, frightened, carefully left.

After she left, Ferris’s hand gripping the ring so tight that he’s actually bleeding.

He knew Aurora hadn’t lost the ring – she had deliberately left it here, after all they would never meet again.

Back in his room.

He carefully put away the bloodstained ring before going to Victoria.

As soon as he entered, Ferris smelled the strong disinfectant odor inside.

Passing several familiar people, Ferris immediately saw the man lying on the hospital bed, still connected to medical equipment.

That’s his twin brother Dennis.

Ferris had thought he would never come back in this lifetime.
