Ferris took the papers, flipped through them on the couch.
I could picture his face at those cold words every page screamed over.
Then he hit the last page–the payout: eight billion.
He must’ve froze.
Wondering where I’d gotten it.
He’d had me investigated. Knew my liquid assets were only a few million. Ever selling everything wouldn’t scratch that number.
Unless… Adrian helped.
Sure enough, he scoffed, tossed my lawyer’s papers in the trash.
“Who does she think she is, making me sign this?” He must’ve said that.
Leo told me he leaned in, low. “She said if you refuse, you don’t care about the money. The past stays buried.”
“Quit using that old relationship to guilt her. Remember: you walked away. She didn’t short you.”
Leo was family–he’d hated how Ferris controlled and hurt me. Finally, he got to hit back.
I thought Ferris might explode, even throw Leo out. But he just went quiet. “Fine. I won’t bring it up again.”
Leo said he was confused.
But I wasn’t.
I knew Ferris’s worst fear- not my hatred, but me cutting ties for good. Eight Hillion to burn the bridge. No going back.
He was sharp. Scarily sharp.
Later, he asked Simon, “What if someone you liked moved on?”
Simon said, “If she liked another guy? I’d make her regret it.”
Ferris’s brow furrowed. Finally, “Let’s go. To the airport.”
Malski Harbor.
Cynthia rested a day, then left.
I walked her to the airport alone. She waved before vanishing into security. A pang hit–when would we see each other again?
On the drive back, my phone rang. Adrian.
“Aurora. You need to move. Ferris is almost here.”
I froze.
Thought he’d take months to track me. Not now.
I breathed in. “Can you get Linus out first?”
He paused. “You’re staying?”

Alba’s Dadrat. Palea Mata The Luna
Chapter 203
I’m tired of running:”
I stared at the gray blue sea. The wind bit, my voice too. “The world’s only so. If he keeps chazing, we’ll meet again
“I need to end this. No more chances with him.”
Adrian went quiet, then muttered, “I’m on my way. He touches you? He disappears.”
He hung up before I could reply.
Adrian never held back.
