Alpha's Regret: False Mate True Luna novel Chapter 212

Chapter 212

Ferris felt an inexplicable panic in his chest. He pushed through the crowd, anxiously running toward my retreating figure.

Only when he saw me at the checkout area did the taut string in him finally relax.

I didn’t look at him, just picked up my things and left directly.

Back home, I made dinner, ate simply, then continued working on my computer. The lab still had several sets of data that hadn’t been updated; I’d write another email tonight to send over.

After writing for a while. I lay in my recliner listening to music and reading. I had just opened a document when my phone suddenly rang.

I picked it up and saw it was an unknown text message.

When I opened it, a bloody photo appeared-

Crimson, twisted, nauseating.

My hand trembled, and I nearly dropped the phone.

I thought it was some perverted prank and didn’t think much of it, immediately deleting the message. But that image lingered in my mind, spreading like a virus

As night fell, I finished my shower and prepared for bed. Just as I closed my eyes, I heard rustling sounds outside.

I slept lightly and was instantly awake, walking to the living room.

“Who’s there?”

I frowned, keeping my voice low: “Ferris, is that you?”

I had already changed the door lock; Ferris couldn’t enter and exit freely like before. Maybe he was unwilling to accept this and was throwing a tantrum?

But as soon as my voice fell, the sounds outside stopped abruptly.

My heart skipped a beat. I walked to the door and looked out through the peephole.

No one.

The hallway was empty, quiet as if swept by death itself.

I felt inexplicably cold and returned to the bedroom, using a chair to barricade the door.

I lay back in bed, but every time I closed my eyes, that bloody photo appeared in my mind.

My hearing aid was still being repaired, so I couldn’t use the connecting device to communicate with Dane and could only call.

‘Dane.”

I’m here.” He answered quickly.

“Are you asleep? Could you come to my place?”

I kept my voice low, trying not to sound panicked.

“Sure, I’ll come right over.”

I hung up, not noticing that a man had sneaked away from downstairs.

And Ferris next door had also heard the commotion from my side. He heard what sounded like me calling his name, and his nerves instantly tensed.

A few days ago when I couldn’t sleep at midnight, he had said: “Call me if you need anything.”

He mistakenly thought I had finally come around.

Ferris deliberately changed into a black bathrobe, stood in front of the mirror to arrange his disheveled hair, looked at the man with deep eyes in the reflection,

then went out.

A few minutes later, Dane arrived at my place first.

I told him about the bloody text message from earlier and the strange sounds just now. He stood up with a serious expression: “Let me check outside first.”

He had just reached the door when there was knocking from outside.

“Someone’s here.” He immediately turned back and whispered.

I instinctively stood up.

Dane quickly opened the door, ready for defense.

The door opened-

Ferris stood there in a black bathrobe, his face dark, his eyes full of storms.

Seeing a strange man in my home, his gaze instantly turned knife-cold.

Dane also recognized him, lowering his defensive stance and nodding calmly: “Alpha Ferris.”

He looked back at me. I froze, not expecting Ferris to be outside the door.

My heart constricted as I suddenly understood: the person outside earlier… could it have been him?

Thinking this, my expression became extremely complex: “Sorry for troubling you. Everything’s fine now, you should go rest.”

Dane bowed, glanced at Ferris, then left.

But Ferris didn’t turn to leave.

He closed the door behind him with a heavy “bang.”

“Who is he?”
