At the entrance of the pasta restaurant, I quickly pulled back the hand Adrian had pressed against his face, trying to keep my tone natural
“That was just childish behavior when I was little.”
When I was a few years old, how could I have known about the differences between men and women? Adrian back then was chubby, with a round face and round eyes, and wasn’t
even as tall as me.
I completely saw him as a little brother. Whatever delicious food my mother made, I would always bring some to him. We would hide in the attic together to eat and fight over the last piece of candy.
But now… he had grown too fast.
His height was a full head taller than mine, his facial features had long since become strikingly defined – no longer that boy who used to huddle under blankets shivering.
That black coat wrapped around him made his whole person appear calm yet cold, standing out too much in the crowd.
How could I dare to casually press my hands against his face anymore?
Adrian looked at me, his eyes deep, reflecting my deliberately distant expression. A flash of loneliness crossed his eyes, and his voice lowered:
“Actually… in front of me, you don’t need to be so well–behaved now either.”
His words made my heart tighten.
He still remembered those winters from childhood.
When he was cold, I secretly brought clothes and food, and told him jokes to cheer him up.

Chapter 250
Without me, he might not have been bullied to death, but rather starved and frozen to
death in that run–down little house.
I lowered my eyelashes and shook my head gently: “We all have to learn to be
well–behaved.”
“Being too naive makes people dislike you.”
I used to be too innocent, thinking that as long as I loved enough, I could melt a cold man’s heart. As a result, I threw myself into a marriage without response, only to learn that being
“well–behaved” was sometimes more important than being coquettish.
Adrian suddenly moved closer to me, as if gathering courage, and spoke quietly: “I… we…”
Before he could finish, a voice suddenly came from the street corner not far away, cold and
familiar.
“Aurora.”
I suddenly looked up, my heartbeat almost skipping a beat.
Ferris.
He stood in the snow, wearing that deep gray windbreaker, his eyes vacant but walking straight toward me. Simon followed behind him his eyes full of suppressed anger.
“Darling, why did buying pasta take so long?” Ferris grabbed my hand, his palm applying pressure, his tone gentle in a chilling way. “I was very worried about you.”
I could feel Adrian’s gaze instantly turn cold.
And Ferris… those unseeing eyes still focused on me, but his face carried a slight smile as he
continued his convincing performance.
“Why are your hands so cold? Let me warm them for you, okay?”
Texploded instantly.

Chapter 250
Had he gone crazy?!
My face turned bright red. I hurriedly tried to pull my hand back, but he wouldn’t let go. Instead, he yanked me into his arms with force
“Darling, your body is so cold too… when we get back, I’ll help warm you up.‘
I wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
“Ferris!” I gritted my teeth quietly, using my free hand to pinch his waist hard. “My friend is here, control yourself!”
Ferris winced in pain but didn’t loosen his grip at all. Instead, his tone grew colder: “What friend?”
At this point, Adrian finally spoke, his voice low and controlled, but not hiding his anger:
“Ferris, I’m Adrian. I grew up with her since childhood.”
He paused, as if reminding or questioning: “When you didn’t have amnesia, you should
have been very clear about this.”
My heart skipped a beat as I felt the gunpowder atmosphere instantly rise between the two
