er that day, I never contacted Ferris again.

I was busy with handover work at the medical center and handling engagement–related matters.

Meanwhile, Ferris seemed somewhat restless.

When he opened WhatsApp, his gaze suddenly stopped on my conversation box.

He just noticed that the last message I sent was on the 8th of last month.

I had asked if he would come home on the weekend.

He hadn’t replied.

Until now, I hadn’t sent him another message.

Ferris let out a cold laugh and closed his phone.

He thought to himself: Aurora really can keep her composure.

She used to be so soft–hearted–even when angry, she wouldn’t even need him to coax her before obediently coming back to apologize to him first.

At dusk, Ferris finished work and drove to the medical center.

Passing by my office, he paused for a moment.

He told himself he was just here to find Ashley and had accidentally passed by Aurora’s office.

That was all.

‘Alpha Ferris, are you here to see Dr. Windsor?” a passing nurse asked casually.

Ferris replied calmly: “I have matters to discuss with Dr. Windsor.”

‘Dr. Windsor has already left.”

He turned his head, lowering his voice to repeat: “She’s already left?”

After receiving the nurse’s confirmation, he frowned.

He knew I never left work early.

“Ferris!”

At that moment, Ashley ran toward him with a bright smile: “Is the meeting over?”

Ferris responded with a soft sound.

Ashley glanced at my tightly closed office door and grabbed Ferris’s arm: “You went the wrong way! My office isn’t here!”

Ferris felt inexplicably uncomfortable. He quietly withdrew his hand and asked: “Haven’t you finished work yet?”

“Almost.” Ashley moved closer to him, appearing to others like a sweet couple. “By the way, will you have dinner with me later?”

Just as Ferris was about to speak, he suddenly received a mindlink.

Sensing me calling to him, he imperceptibly curled his lip and stepped aside to respond to my connection.

“Have you thought it through? Ready to apologize?”

I put away my smile, tightly gripping the property division agreement I had prepared.
