Ferris had been reviewing documents in his hands. When he heard “she’s waiting for you downstairs,” his movements imperceptibly paused.

After a moment, he calmly closed the file and said coldly: “There are plenty of people waiting for me. Let her continue waiting outside.”

Simon pressed his lips together and glanced out the window.

Remembering how Aurora had looked like a little snowman when he saw her, he couldn’t help but remind: “Alpha Ferris, it’s snowing outside.”

Ferris leaned back in his chair, his gaze passing through the floor–to–ceiling window. Snow filled the sky, half the city was dyed white, and below, snow and mist were so thick that the slender figure could no longer be seen.

“If she really wants to see me, she’ll wait,” his voice was hoarse but carried its habitual arrogance and coldness. “This is the price she must pay for what she’s done recently.”

After speaking, he pulled the documents back in front of him and began reviewing them one by one, as if the person standing in the cold wind was completely insignificant.

He deliberately delayed until the entire administrative center was empty and night had fallen.

Only then did he stand up, adjust his cuffs, and walk downstairs with elegant but unhurried steps.

Without saying a word, he transformed into a swift silver wolf and rushed into the night.

Wind howled, snow fell heavily.

Ferris moved swiftly, his silver fur disheveled by the wind. His heartbeat was out of control, his chest feeling as if it were being viciously squeezed by an invisible hand.
