"Damn, bro, you’ve really got it made; we single people are too ashamed to even speak up."
"Sorry to interrupt, sorry to interrupt."
"Let’s play the game first. If anything comes up, just ping me on voice chat."
Luofeng smiled and sent a message, "Tomorrow I’ll apologize to the bros by treating everyone to some of Shu City’s specialty dishes."
"How about Nine-eyed Bridge? ;)"
"I’ve looked up Nine-eyed Bridge online, and I’m really hopeful about that place."
"Although I have no idea what Nine-eyed Bridge is, I don’t dare to say anything or ask!"
Luofeng laughed. "Brothers, see you later. I’m going to ask the dorm manager for leave first."
He didn’t head straight to the dorm. Instead, he went to the convenience store, bought two packs of Yuxi cigarettes, then asked for directions and headed to the dormitory building.
In the small room of the dorm manager on the first floor, this residential teacher looked to be in his forties, his face a bit weathered. Luofeng greeted him, "Hello, Teacher, I’m Luofeng from Dorm 302!"
"Hello, student. I’m the residential Teacher for this building; you can call me Teacher Yu," Teacher Yu said.
"Well, my situation is..."
Luofeng then explained his circumstances. He also placed the two packs of cigarettes, still in their black plastic bag, on the Teacher’s desk.
"Sorry for the trouble, Teacher Yu... Here’s a little something..."
Luofeng spoke with finesse. Aligned with the Teacher’s wish list, Luofeng still made his move. With the wish list in hand, it’s possible to analyze what the other person is thinking. If it’s not going to work, then there’s no point in giving anything.
But obviously, who wouldn’t want a bit of an advantage when it’s offered? Teacher Yu merely glanced at it and sighed inwardly. This new student really knows how to handle things.
But Luofeng also knew that local management mattered more than distant authorities; it was essential to establish good relations here.
"Luofeng, come, let’s add each other on WeChat. In the future, we can just talk there—no need to come all the way here in this sweltering heat," Teacher Yu said.
"Yes, thank you, Teacher."
Luofeng added him on WeChat, said his goodbyes, and then started to head upstairs.
It was on the seventh floor. Good thing it’s 302, huh? Otherwise, I’d be dead from climbing.
When he arrived at 302, Luofeng found the door open but still knocked.
A short guy came over. "Luofeng? Are you Brother Luofeng?"
Luofeng smiled. "You must be Brother Zhang Long, right?"
The term "brotherhood" is local slang. Luofeng knew this person must be a local, so it had to be Zhang Long.
"Yeah, I’m Zhang Long, a local from Shu City. If you need any help in the future, just tell me—don’t be shy, we’re all brothers here."
"Right, let me introduce you. This tall one with big ears is our brother WangGui, and the other guy is Li Hu."
After listening to Zhang Long’s introductions, Luofeng then said, "Hello everyone, I’m Luofeng."
WangGui immediately replied warmly, "Hello, brother. I’m WangGui. I come from the east side of Taishan. And this is Li Hu, from Jinling. We’ve already given him a nickname: ’Gentleman.’"
"As in ’Gentleman’ in writing, but ’pervert’ in meaning?" Luofeng joked. Apparently, they were all part of this batch of exchange students.
They were new to the school as well. That’s even better. No older students thinking they’re awesome and picking on newcomers.
Looking at Li Hu, he did have a bit of a gentleman’s appearance, dressed in a suit and dress pants...

Even though they had just met, Luofeng had already figured it out. Zhang Long and WangGui both came from ordinary families. If they were to split the cost, they could probably afford it, but the electricity bill would be too expensive.
