Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 504

On Monday, Charlene was back at The Henderson Group for another meeting.

Thorne also had a packed schedule that day, so, unlike before, he didn’t make the trip downstairs to sit in on Charlene’s meeting himself.

That didn’t stop him from keeping tabs, though. As soon as her meeting ended, Coy and Josh overheard him asking, “Is the meeting downstairs finished? Has the follow-up proposal been sent up yet? If it’s here, bring it to me.”

Thorne’s habit of attending Charlene’s meetings in person wasn’t exactly a secret; Coy and Josh had both noticed it before. Now, hearing his question, they exchanged a quick glance, then looked at the pile of paperwork stacked on Thorne’s desk.

With Thorne heading out of town on business the next day, every document on his desk had to be reviewed and signed off before he left. In contrast, the meeting Charlene had just finished was about a project that wouldn’t officially kick off for another month. The proposal on Thorne’s mind was really little more than a rough draft—something he could easily have left until after his trip.

But since he’d asked for it, Josh headed back to his office, found the freshly delivered report, and handed it over.

Though the proposal was technically just an early draft, Charlene’s section on the follow-up work was already impressively thorough. To anyone reading it, the plan felt clear and concrete, with each step mapped out in detail.

Thorne wasted no time and flipped straight to the action items.

The report was loaded with technical jargon, and both Coy and Josh could only make out bits and pieces. Still, as Thorne read, Coy noticed the corners of his mouth start to turn up in a rare, genuine smile.

Thorne skimmed for the highlights, flipping pages with increasing speed. In less than three minutes, he’d breezed through eight or nine densely packed pages. By the time he finished, the satisfaction on his face was unmistakable.

There was no doubt—Thorne was impressed.

Coy and Josh watched, preparing to speak, but before they could, Thorne closed the folder, looked up at them, and said, “They’re probably heading out for lunch soon. Josh, let them know I’ll be joining them.”

If Stewart didn’t know, neither did she.

Thorne, meanwhile, had plenty left on his plate. By the time he and Coy finally arrived at the restaurant, Charlene and Stewart had already been waiting for a while.

As soon as Thorne walked in, the senior execs and technical leads from The Henderson Group stood up to greet him.

After exchanging a few polite words, Thorne turned his attention to Charlene and Stewart. He reached out to shake their hands. “I’ve reviewed the follow-up plan. It’s excellent work. Thank you for your effort.”

The tech leads from The Henderson Group were visibly surprised.

Their proposal had only just been submitted—how had Thorne managed to review it so quickly?
