Charlene checked her temperature, then forced herself to stay awake for a while, hoping Thorne would return. But exhaustion soon got the better of her, and she drifted off to sleep.
When she woke again, sunlight slanting across the room, Thorne was still there, quietly reading in his chair.
She stared at him in a daze, not quite focusing, until Thorne noticed her and put down his book. He walked over and gently pressed his hand to her damp forehead. “How are you feeling?” he asked.
It had been a long time since they’d shared this kind of closeness.
Charlene tensed at the touch, unused to his hands on her, even though she knew he was only checking her temperature. She brushed his hand away and shook her head, saying nothing.
She was just surprised he was still there.
She’d assumed that after taking that phone call earlier, he would have left the house.
A fresh wave of sweat broke out across her skin, but finally, the fever began to fade. Feeling clammy and uncomfortable, she changed into clean clothes, ate a small meal, and then lay down to rest again.
The next time she awoke, it was already afternoon.
Her fever had finally broken.
Now, Thorne was gone. The room was silent and empty, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
Her phone buzzed on the nightstand. It was a message from Stewart, asking how she was feeling.
Charlene replied with a few brief messages. Stewart still had work to do, so their conversation was short.
She set her phone aside and, for the first time, really looked around the room.
She hadn’t noticed much while she was sick, but now she realized that Thorne’s room looked just as it always had. Her collection of lotions and perfumes was still scattered across the vanity. When she’d changed earlier, she’d noticed her clothes still hanging neatly beside Thorne’s in the wardrobe, untouched.
A little later, when Thorne finally left the room himself, he found Charlene standing by the upstairs window in the sitting room, gazing out at something in the distance.
He walked over, and Charlene, hearing his approach, turned to him. “The roads are clear again. I’m feeling much better, so I think I’ll head back now.”
She paused for a moment, then added, “Thank you—for everything today.”
Thorne understood she meant for taking care of her.
Before he could respond, Irma’s voice rang out from down the hall. “Thorne, is this how you take care of someone? Charlene’s just gotten over a fever and you let her stand by the open window? What if she gets sick again?”
Charlene, standing a few feet away, replied before Thorne could defend himself. “Grandma, I’m really fine. I’m not going to relapse so easily.”
Irma shot her a disapproving look. “You never take care of yourself. You’re still pale as a ghost—you should rest some more. There’s plenty of time before dinner. Why don’t you go back to your room and lie down a bit? You’ll feel much better by evening.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne)
It is now mind numbing excruciating and irritating in the Chinese version where Thorne is ambiguous and now openly again intimate with Vesta, she leans and mutters sweetly holding his arm! And her clan are viciously demeaning Charlene while Thorne is within hearing distance. There is no justice no reparations for Charlene. Utter disheartening this novel is now...
Thorne must have bashed his head somewhere....
Chapters 480 and on are repeat from previous chapters. What's up with that? Time to stop reading this novel....
Thanks for the update. Keep them coming please!...
Any hope for Vesta being brain-dead?...
Thanks PINKK889 for the info. The same version is also on You tube except dubbed in English and titled “ I divorced my husband who cheated now begging me to come back” Enjoy...
Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...
Stewart and Charlene will the best match, both power players!...
Can't wait to read where Charlene will start another relationship... God for is she gets back with Thorne... She needs to be with York or Gaylord (to annoy vesta) or granger (to annoy Thorne)...
I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
