23 Chapter 23
“Andrew,” I whispered as my eyes shifted into milky white, magic taking over my body completely. He stirred against the wall, his head finally lifting up to look straight at me.
He jumped up, his mouth opening to speak before he saw my white eyes. “Emilia! Shit, what do I do?!” Thunder cracked as I started walking out the door, not reacting to Andrews’s hushed calls. “Emilia! I swear to god I’ll wake up Wesley right now!”
I turned slowly, his eyes widening even more as my hair whipped around me. “There is no need to wake him, Emilia and her wolf are lying dormant now. The storm has taken control, stay safe. You may watch, but do not interrupt.” I turned and sprinted out the door, my hair whipping around faster and faster as the rain pelted my skin. I stuck my hands out palm up, shutting my eyes while I lifted my face to the dark sky. Lightening flashed and strikes the ground near me, screams being heard from the pack no more than twenty feet away.

“Emilia!” Andrews’s shouts broke through my ear, but all I could feel was the storm raging within my veins.
I ran deeper into the woods, coming out to the clearing right before a cliff. The ocean lay beneath it, waves crashing onto the shore as everything continued to rage. I grinned as I let my magic release, a wave of wind blowing in a circle around me through
the trees.
I lift my hands out again and began spinning, the wind picking up as I grinned. Small tornadoes grew around me, knocking down trees in their paths of destruction and chaos. I let out a scream just as thunder rumbled again seemingly over the pack house, greeting me like an old friend. I took in a deep breath.
The world stilled as I heard shouts from the pack house. Clouds broke and the storm paused for a moment, the sun coming out and warming my cold wet skin. I felt Andrew hammering in my brain as my high from the storm faded, leaving me feeling euphoric. I let it out. Lightening cracked one more time, hitting my skin directly.
I soaked up the electricity and felt it hum through my

veins, my skin cracking and burning right under where it hit. It’ll heal within an hour, but my skin was blistering and bubbling at the moment. I opened my eyes I wasn’t even aware I had shut, to a pale wide-eyed, and wet Andrew. I gave him a smile, my body swaying as I took a step and said, “The storm wanted to come out and play.” I fell to the ground, my eyes fluttering shut as everything drained from me.

I woke up in the field I had cried in days earlier, my head cradled in Andrews’s lap. I looked up to find him asleep and snoring rather loud, the sun was long gone and the moon out. I picked my head up, my eyes looking warily at my shoulder to find it healed.
“Andrew.” I shook him lightly, his eyes snapping open to mine. “You okay?” He chuckled before sitting straight up, rubbing his eyes. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” I grinned, running the back of my neck awkwardly. “Yeah, sorry about that. Storms kinda cause me to go crazy.” “Why didn’t you go crazy on Tuesday? When James and Wesley had to leave because of, well, you know.” I rolled my eyes before

pushing myself up, wiping the dirt from my torn pants. “I got home fast enough and put all of my energy into helping Wesley and his warriors fight the Rogues. Plus, my mom found out I skipped school afterwords and…” I trailed off, looking away from his guilty face.
“Please stay the night at the pack house.” I shook my head, beginning the trek to civilization. “I can’t. If I’m not home she’ll just get too drunk and slaughter the pack.” He grunted, walking close behind me. “Wesley is probably going crazy right now. He couldn’t find you when he woke up and tore everything apart. The only reason I found you was because I got you right when you woke up.” I cringed, stepping over a fallen log as the house came into sight.
Trees were fallen over in the year, one of the cars on its side. I bit my lip as Andrew let out a soft groan beside me, his eyes surveying the damage. “I’m sorry, this storm actually wasn’t the worst I’ve ever made.” “Wait, you made this storm?!” I shrugged, beginning to pick up big branches that lay in our way.
“No, the storm has to be there, but I kinda heighten it. The worst ones I have made were category 3

hurricanes or tornadoes.” He gasped at my words, his eyes wide.
“Holy shit.” I nodded, looking around to see if there were any pack members. I took a deep breath, cracking my knuckles before shutting my eyes. “Clean.”
The branches began to disintegrate into dirt and dust, a soft breeze picking them up and flying them through the woods. The car flipped and righted itself, the varying rubble of bricks flying to rebuild the small shack it had been.
Whatever wires that had been ripped from the flood lifts were glued back into their spaces and the lights flooded back on, illuminating the edge of the forest and the porch on the house.
“I’ll never get used to that.” I gave him a smile, turning and making my way back into the forest.
“Wait! What about Wesley?”
“Just tell him you never saw me.”

running along the perimeter of our home, sniffing gently for any traces of my scent. My mother threatened the pack again, as she cut into me with a silver razor until I swore I wouldn’t speak to any wolves anymore. “They will all die, and I will start by taking the wolf away from that little Alpha you’re so fond of. If I even catch wind of you speaking to anyone that can shift into little furry dogs, they will be
tortured right in front of you.”
My heart is breaking right in the middle of English. I didn’t dare look at Wesley as the teacher began lecturing over Shakespeare, my fingers wringing together under my desk. My body screamed when I shifted in my desk, the jagged cuts she gave me along my wrists burning when they brushed the long sleeves I was forced to wear. She chose my wrist because if anyone saw it, they’d just think I was a cutter. They wouldn’t be wrong, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
