What a good joke!
She brushed her hair. "Just think of her. Where is she? After all, she's the only woman who can stay beside you."
He angrily laughed, "Are you deliberately mentioning her in front of me to irritate me now?"
She shook her head. "Why can I irritate you by mentioning her?"
She smiled. "Mr. Donald is not a person who can be angry for a woman."
He paused and laughed more coldly. "Do you have to go against me like this?"
"I'm not against you." Her face was white and indifferent. Although she wanted to escape, she still restrained her instinct, standing in front of him calmly.
"You came to me on your own initiative." Smiling, she looked so charming, and many people paid attention to her profile. She remained calm in the face of their observation and turned more indifferent and calmer when facing Victor. "I don't expect you to come tonight."
"Who is she talking to?"
"Mr. Donald."
"Really, they have an intimate relationship?"
"Doesn't he like Darleen?"
"Shh! Darleen's brother Samuel is here today. Watch your words!"
"Do you know Elinor and Victor grew up together? It's normal for them to be close."
A feeling flashed in her eyes. No sooner had she put down the glass than a clear female voice came from the door.
"Sorry, I'm late!"
Everyone looked towards the door and saw Darleen coming step by step in a black evening dress and high heels. Others focused on her till she came to Victor.
Upon coming to Victor, she cast vigilant eyes at Elinor, as if warning Elinor not to take Victor away from her. "I never expect you're so talkative. I'm late, so that I can't intervene."
She acted like accusing Elinor of having an affair with her boyfriend.
Elinor kept calm. "It's normal to be late. You must dress up well and want to make a grand debut tonight, right?"
She satirized Darleen's ulterior motives.
