Elinor's cognition has completely gone beyond Shawn's league. He has not been exposed to critiques. And yet they lived under constant pressure, with distinct differences on power relations and dare not cross the line.
However, Elinor is different. When she was a child, she was suppressed, and there was always an idea of fighting back. Thus, when she encountered a similar situation now, she formed a kind of self-protection-mechanism, she responded to her attacks to the same extent.
"That's all I want to say. Besides, I have finished practicing I need for today. If there are other workouts, that's physical punishment. You need to explain with specific and convincing reasons. Then, I'll take this punishment. But if there's no convincing reason..." Elinor paused, "I will not obey your command and continue to practice."
"Are you trying to be against me?"
Shawn looked at Elinor with his voice cooled down. He knew how rebellious Elinor was. However, it's not his business.
What he has to do is to inspire the ability of Elinor.
"Against?"
Elinor chuckled. No one knew whether she's mocking at herself or Shawn.
"If you have to fighting against with someone, I think I've been fighting for more than ten years."
She dropped this sentence and left. When she left, she put the knife back to the shelf softly and steadily.
"Go to bed early, Shawn."
Elinor walked out of the arena. It was already dark outside. A crescent moon overhead sprinkled pale light, which made her back seemed slender and lonely.
Shawn wondered, what had this woman been through to make her back seem so lonely.
Samuel touched his chin. "After all, she is Elinor's best friend, but she is always hostile to you. I don't think she'll tell you."
"Then why don't you ask her?"
Victor sneered "Aren't you and Kaliyah a couple of joy and grudges? Help me. I'm sure you can get something."
"Where does that come from? Asking me to flatter her? How is that even possible?"
Samuel said firmly, "You have lost your own woman, find your own way!"
The words "own woman" made Victor's eyebrows jump.
