These days, the senior employees in the Borris Group felt that Victor's attitude seemed to have changed.
In the past, when Mr. Donald was in the company, he was indifferent, but he was also calm and rational. He valued talents, and would not find troubles for no reason. Thus, although he's expressionless, everyone respected him because of his serious work attitude.
Besides, Victor was charmingly good-looking. Him being in the company would be refreshing...however, he changed.
He began to be irritable, and would find some boring loopholes, and then he brought many troubles to them.
During the meeting, several senior executives talked carefully, feeling that Mr. Donald had some troubles which irritated him, and that's why he was so annoyed, which made them cautious about their behaviors.
So at the recent high-level meeting, everyone didn't dare to say anything more, for fear of being caught by Victor. Thus, they simply went through all the slides and waited Victor to approve.
When Victor came out of the room, he breathed a sigh of relief. Someone came over.
He paused and looked at the man. "Uncle Carney."
"Recently, senior clerks said that you are in a bad mood and feel annoyed. What's the matter?"
Carney held a document in his hand. "Just now, your father called me to transfer a piece of land to you. Come and have a look."
"Where did my dad buy the house?"
"He bought you a small island, close to the S Country by air."
Carney smiled helplessly, "Your father has planned, saying that when you grow old, you can take your wife to an island and no one will bother you. It's close by plane. And then you could hand the company to the next generation."
Victor asked in surprise, "He is thinking about my career? No need. Just have a peace of mind and live on the island with my mother. They need to go on a vacation."
"Have you got your license to fly a plane recently?"
"..." Victor wanted to say something, but failed. He looked at Carney for a while and then changed the subject. "What is my dad up to recently?"
"What else can I do? He is enjoying his family time, and now you are in charge of the whole company. He is idle, sometimes plays chess and checks his stocks. For the rest of the time, he learns to make desserts with your mother."
"They are quite good now."
"That's true."
"I can't tell at all...they used to..."...hate each other.
"Well, love is complicated."
Carney gave Victor a meaningful look. "You and Elinor are just like your father and your mother in those years."
