Before she thoroughly lost the ability to think, a pair of dark eyes flashed in her mind.
No, don't recall him again.
She fainted.
Elinor opened her eyes and looked into that pair of eyes.
The dark and cold eyes.
In a trance, she raised her hand to pinch her face to awake herself. But she was so weak that she can't feel her own strength nor judge whether she was conscious.
Meanwhile, Victor frowned and waited her to wake up. Seeing her action, he was amused. "Are you addicted to self-abuse?"
She skipped breaths.
Then she got up from the bed. Due to dizziness, she stumbled up at the center of the bed. After she came to her senses, she retreated back to the corner and asked in a trembling voice, "Why are you here?"
"It's a stupid question."
He stood up and came to her side. "Look at where you are now."
She immediately looked around, and was scared to breathe quickly by the surrounding environment.
"You..."
She turned to glare at him, her voice sharp due to disbelief. "You brought me out of Rutledge's house?"
How did he make it?
"You brought me here at your own will. How can you interrogate me in such a tone? Victor, don't you feel you're very ridiculous?"
She retorted with grievances, as if she can't endure his bad attitude anymore.
But her tone also provoked Victor. Most of the time, he wanted to chat with her peacefully, but in the face of her such tone, he can't think rationally. Instead, he always retorted her with the sharpest words.
If this situation continued, they would become more distant.
He swallowed. "You interrogate me because of Rutledge?"
"Because of myself."
She covered her hand on her chest. "I am a human being, a living person. Can you realize this? Or you just see me as a toy of yours? I have my own life, thoughts and freedom. When I loved you, you disdained me. After I decided to leave you, and you always caught me back."
