"What I want is that both of us benefit from it."
Elinor deliberately gave an irrelevant answer, sitting still silently, when Shawn sneered at her.
She was like a statue that can't speak.
He can't stimulate her, but he still tried to do so.
He said, "Imagine how other people will react when they know the news."
He stressed 'Other'.
"You can directly mention Victor."
Elinor sneered, "You said so to test me, didn't you?"
He frowned.
"If you want to know, you might as well ask him directly yourself."
She took a sip of black tea and finally stood up. "Or when we are engaged, invite him. All right?"
His heart suddenly raced, making him heartbroken.
"What you managed to do is to invite him, to see his violence to me, to enjoy my panic?" She took a deep breath. "Anyway, in your eyes, I'm cheap. I don't care, whatever you want to make fun of me and see my agony..."
She smiled. "Beg me. If you beg me, I will show you my weakest side."
At that moment, Shawn was hit. He cast an unbelievable look at her for he never expected her words like this, which subverted his view of her.
She breathed shortly, trying to remain calm. "It's ok for you to belittle me today. I just represent myself. If you do so later, it means you belittle your family together. Admit it."
"How dare you—"
He flew into a rage. "Talk to me like this?"
She went out without any reply. The maid aside asked carefully, "Mater, shall we arrange a car for Miss Sue?"
"Shut up!" He roared aloud, as if talking to Elinor, "Let her go back by herself! She's not paralyzed. Why should we send her?"
At the thought that he would be tied up with this cheap woman, he turned more angry at her, watching her back off with cold eyes.
Sooner or later, he will ask her to beg for mercy!
