“Excuse me, may I ask what’s your relationship with Ms. Gray the receptionist asked.
Eliza cut off her, “We’re her friends–came all the way from Zowerin to see her. Could you please inform her?”
The receptionist smiled politely, “I’m sorry, but I haven’t received instructions to allow visitors in I can’t let you through without authorization.”
Victor frowned and said, “I’m Serena’s husband. Are you telling me I can’t even tee my v
The receptionist’s polite smule faltered for a split second as she sled up Victor and Eliza. “My Gray is married?” she asked.
“Absolutely,” Victor affirmed firmly.
The reception looked skeptical but remained professional. “Well, please wait here for a moment while I verify this information.”
Just then, Serena stepped out of the elevator, a stack of documents in hand, clearly on her way out
“Hi, Ms. Gray?” the receptionist quickly called out to stop her.
Serena instinctively turned her head when she heard someone call her name. To her shock, it was Victor and Eliza. She stared blankly at them.
Eliza? Victor? What the hell are they doing here?‘ Serena thought in disbelief.
Victor’s gaze lingered on Serena. Ater some time apart, she seemed transformed, Dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, she now appeared sophisticated and stylish, a far cry from the gentle, demure lady of his memories
He strode right up to Serena and ordered firmly, “Serena, come back with me.”
“Go back? Back where exactly?” Serena found it rather amusing. She arched an eyebrow slightly, giving Victor a mocking smile. “Mr. Powell, are you confused about something?
“Why should i go back with you?4 don’t recall having any obligation to follow your orders.”
She reminded him they were divorced and no longer connected in any way on purpose.
“Serena, it’s been long enough. You should be over this by now. Coghe home with me,” said Victor.
“Victor,” Serena snapped, “we’re divorced. My whereabouts are none of your business, and you have no right to tell me what to do.”
Eliza interjected at just the right moment, trying to smooth things We’re just good friends who grew up together, and that’s all.”

“Good friends? What a touching display of friendship Serena sneered. She watched Eliza’s hypocritical act, feeling nothing but disgust.
Serena couldn’t stand Eliza’s two faced routine. After all, Eliza destroyed her family. And now she had the nerve to play innocent. It was so annoying
Serena glared at Eliza and snapped, “Eliza, can you just drop the act? Do you really think I can’t see through your little schemes?”
“Serena, you’ve really got it all wrong” Elza tried to continue her act, but Serena sharply cut her off
“Enough. I’ve had it with your nonsense. Get out You’re not welcome here,” Serena snapped.
Victor seethed with anger at Serena’s resolute attitude and roughly grabbed her wrist. “Serena, don’t push your luck. If you don’t come with my now, you’ll never see Leon again”
Serena yanked her hand free from Victor’s grip. “I gave up custody of Leon when we divorced. Whatever happens to him now is none of my business

“Serena, how dare you call security to kick me out? You-“Victor was stunned.
Serena said coldly to Victor, “We’re done. I don’t want to see you right now. Please leave.”
Elra quickly stepped forward, trying to calm things down. “Serena, please, don’t be like this. Vic really—”
“Shut up. You have no say here.” Serena interrupted her
Within moments, two security guards rushed over. Serena pointed firmly at Victor and Eliza. “These two are harassing me at my workplace. Escort them out immediately–and make sure they never set foot in here again.”
The two security guards approached Victor and Eliza. “Sir, Madam, please cooperate and come with us,” they said sternly.
Victor tried to protest, but the security guard cut him off. “Sir, this way please.”
Before being escorted out, Elza turned back and shot Serena one last venomous glare, her eyes burning with resentment.
Serena watched coldly as the two were escorted away, then turned on her heel and strode toward the elevator.
Back at the hotel, Victor locked himself in his room, drowning his anger in glass after glass of liquor
Eliza sat beside him, murmuring soothing words while discreetly observing Victor’s every move.
“Could he still be in love with Serena? The thought sont a wave of panic through Eliza. ‘No way. I can’t let Serena get back together with Victor, I have to hold on to him tightly. I’ll never let anyone snatch him away from me!
Eliza comforted him softly, “Vic, don’t be upset. Once Ms. Gray calms down, we’ll explain things to her properly
Victor suddenly hurled his glass to the floor, shards of glass scattering everywhere as liquor soaked into the carpet. “Explain he snapped. “I make sure she comes back with me, no matter what.“”
Eliza was startled by Victor’s sudden outburst, flinching as her shoulders instinctively shrank back. But she quickly masked her true feelings, still wearing that gentle, practiced smile as she softly comforted Victor.
