We Got Love, The Crazy Kind novel Chapter 47

By the time Ethan Adams rushed to Max’s Bar, Mia Cavendish was already half-drunk.

Mia’s cheeks were flushed from the alcohol amidst a combination of watery eyes and droopy eyelids. The dignity and grace characteristic of her had disappeared, leaving behind a tipsy and charming girl, looked at by other men of ill intent lustfully out of the corner of their eyes.

“Mia! Why did you drink so much!” Seeing the empty wine bottle on the table, Ethan felt angry and distressed.

He shielded her from the sight of all the other men with his body and sat beside Mia. Her body was leaning against the sofa; so he used his arms to firmly pick her up.

Mia was wearing a black lace dress, her porcelain skin white and alluring in the dim light. The dress showed a lot of cleavage revealing her exposed skin. Ethan did not dare to look at it.

Mia raised her eyes in a drunken stupor, and took a long time before she recognized Ethan. She curled her lips into a smile but immediately teared up.

“Ethan!” She threw herself into his arms, “Stay with me, I’m so lonely, it hurts so much…”

As Mia wept out her grievances, her tears began to soak his shirt.

Ethan hugged her carefully and tenderly, conscious of the distance between the two of them. He softly comforted her as he asked, “Mia, what’s wrong? Where’s Liam? Why wasn’t he with you? I couldn’t reach him on the phone…”

“Don’t mention him again!” Mia dishearteningly interrupted him. She raised her glass and took a big gulp of wine. “His heart belongs to someone else now; he doesn’t want me anymore…”

Ethan’s original intent was to comfort her, but the conversation made him depressed. It made him want to get drunk too. So, he picked up a drink and gently touched glasses, “Cheers! To everlasting youth!”

Friendship? Ethan’s feelings towards Mia were never about friendship. But at this moment, he didn’t care. To be able to drink with Mia alone was already a rare occasion.

Alone and tired, Amber dragged her suitcase behind her as she wandered in the streets.

A hotel popped into view, half-hidden in a small and remote alley. Its tiny neon sign says: 80 yuan for accommodations.

Amber squeezed the purse in her pocket. Gritting her teeth in grim resignation, she walked towards the hotel. Whatever that has happened, she decided to think about it tomorrow after a good night’s sleep.
