What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 535

"I won't go see him," Josephine replied, her voice still somewhat weak. She had no intention of seeing Lewis again, and if possible, she didn't want to see Seth either.

She didn't want to see any of them.

"It's best that you don't. If I find out you have any contact with Lewis ..." Seth began, but he hesitated and didn't finish his sentence. Considering her recent awakening and her previous actions, he decided against saying more.

Josephine suddenly looked at him and said, "Are you planning to follow in his footsteps?"

Then, she chuckled and corrected herself. "No, wait, you two are cut from the same cloth."

They were selfish and ruthless individuals who would stop at nothing to achieve their goals. She lay there now, feeling foolish.

One moment, she had been on the brink of taking her own life out of guilt for him, and the next, he stood before her, revealing that all of this was his plan.

She had been played like a fool by them.

Seth's gaze flickered as he reached out to cup Josephine's cheek. He smiled and said, "Yes, we are alike in many ways, but you and I are the closest. We'll stay here, away from the turmoil of the outside world, just like when we were kids."

Josephine was stunned. "Where is this?"

"This is Black River, and right next to it is a wide grassland. When you feel better, I'll take you to the grasslands."

Josephine was once again surprised. She hadn't realized that she had traveled so far during her slumber.

Seth had chosen this place, and it seemed like he genuinely intended to live a secluded life. Josephine looked at him with mixed emotions. She didn't know what to say next.

Josephine couldn't help but wonder why Seth had gone to such lengths to infiltrate the Alvarez family and engage in a long-standing battle with Lewis. Yet he wanted nothing in the end and chose a life of seclusion in such a remote place.

However, given how many times this man had deceived her, Josephine couldn't trust his words for now.

Seth released her and tucked her in once more. "Rest well."

After saying that, he got up and left the room.

The room fell silent, and Josephine stared at the unfamiliar furnishings. A profound sense of melancholy washed over her.

Outside the room, Kiran was waiting for Seth.

They were at an independent cottage with no other residents within a five-mile radius. It was surrounded by grasslands. The cottage stood out in the vast prairie.

As they stepped outside, the wind blew strongly, tossing their hair about.

Kiran sat down at the white table in the yard and leisurely sipped his tea.

After Seth sat down, he said, "Since she's awake now, I should leave, right?"

"Why didn't you bring her personal belongings with you?"

"We left in such a hurry. Who would take the trouble to fetch irrelevant items? Lewis is searching for me all over the world. If he finds me, I'm afraid he'll throw me into a furnace and burn me alive."

Seth ran his fingers along the teacup and chuckled. "Irrelevant things? If Lewis discovers the secret of that thing, all my efforts will be in vain."

Kiran raised an eyebrow. "Is it that serious?"

"What do you think?"

"In that case, I can only wish you good luck. I did everything I could. You didn't tell me in advance. It's not my fault. Quickly give me my new identity documents. You might want to stay here with Josephine, but I don't want to be in this godforsaken place."

Kiran's eyes flickered with coldness beneath his glasses. "The matter between him and me is not over yet."

Seth chuckled. "You really have the nerve to say that. Who told you to take her to the crematorium?"

He continued, "I genuinely believed you were dead before. Kiran contacted me and said that if I helped him sneak your 'corpse' out, he would take me with him. I only found out you were alive when we left Elysium. If I knew you were alive, would I have run away with them?"

He had spent so many years in Elysium. If it weren't for dire circumstances, he would never have abandoned it to come to a place like this.

His sincerity led Josephine to trust him.

When she learned that Seth was alive, the heavy burden that had weighed on her heart disappeared. Now, she didn't have to worry about anything. Her mind felt unusually clear.

Josephine finished the soup Yannis brought her.

On the other hand, after Sierra and Nancy recognized each other, she stayed at the Alvarez Manor.

Sophia was the biggest winner. Hannah still acknowledged her as her daughter. So now, she was the daughter of two families.

Although Sierra resented Nancy, she couldn't give up this newfound identity. She confided in Nancy, who was filled with remorse and self-blame.

"Mom, since I'm the real daughter of the Alvarez family, shouldn't Lewis lose the right to inherit the Alvarez Corp?"

Troubled by the situation, Nancy sighed. "It's a bit difficult. The company is under his control now, and we've had issues with inheritance before this. Look at what happened to Michael and Robert. They both died. It's not easy to reclaim the inheritance."

Sierra said confidently, "It's simple. Make him marry me. This way, he can rightfully inherit Alvarez Corp."

Lewis married Josephine in the past. Now, she was the true daughter of the Alvarez family. Lewis had no reason not to marry her.

"That's a good idea, but will he agree?" Nancy was anxious. Lewis might have tolerated her in the past because he considered her as his mother.

Yet he had no reason to continue accommodating her now.

"I'll go talk to him. I'll convince him!" Sierra's confidence returned. After all, Josephine was no longer in the picture. Lewis should marry her from any perspective.
