When Her Death Couldn't Break Him (Cecilia and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 2109

Denise's eyes welled up with tears as she was touched by Magnus' gesture.

She really didn't have much money on hand right now. Not wanting to worry her parents, she decided to take Magnus' money first and planned to pay him back slowly once she returned to work.

After keeping the money, Denise went to prepare breakfast.

However, something felt off—usually, Brycen and Calliope would be awake by now, but today, they hadn't gotten up yet, and their door remained closed.

Denise thought they were still resting and didn't want to disturb them.

Only after she was done making breakfast did she go to their room and knock on their door. "Mom, Dad, time to get up and have breakfast."

But after several calls, Denise still didn't hear a response from inside the room.

Her heart sank, and she hurriedly pushed the door open.

When the door opened, she was greeted by the sight of a spotlessly clean room with all the items neatly folded. No one was inside.

"Dad! Mom!" Denise shouted. But the room was small, so she could see at a glance that it was empty.

Denise immediately ran out to search the house, checking the bathroom, the kitchen—everywhere—but she couldn't find Brycen and Calliope.

She instantly panicked and returned to her parents' room, where she saw a handwritten note on the bedside table.

Denise, we can no longer burden you. We plan to find a place and quietly await our departure from this world. You don't need to look for us, and don't be sad. Live your life well, get along with Magnus, don't argue, and get married soon.

As Denise read the note left by Brycen and Calliope, her eyes reddened, and tears streamed down her face.

"Mom and Dad, what are you talking about? Where did you go?" she sobbed.
