Chapter 466 Sold Off
The assets of White Inc. had been frozen for months. No one dared to touch them. Selina knew it was Jonathan’s shadow pressing down on the market.
But whispers had reached her cars these past two days. Perseus and Christopher had moved several factories and plots of land.
The prices were cut to the bone. The sales were rushed and desperate. Yet someone still bought them.
That meant Jonathan had let go. He would never loosen his grip for no reason.
Selina’s heart pounded. She was certain now. Perseus and Christopher had betrayed her.
She had tested them tonight. The signs were clear. Eight out of ten said she was right.
Her breath came in quick bursts. She clutched her uncle’s arm, nails digging hard into his skin.
Her voice shook. “Uncle, what do we do? If Jonathan finds out we hired someone to kill Calvin…”
Fear consumed her. She was young. If she went to prison, her life would be finished.
Her crimes would be heavier than Mikita. She knew it.
Hiroto’s brows knotted tight. His voice cracked across the air like a whip. “Enough! Stop crying. Tears won’t fix a thing. You’re scaring yourself. Calvin died three months ago. No body. No trace. Even Jonathan cannot pull evidence from nothing.”
From the moment Anneliese uncovered the truth of the past, Selina’s nights had been sleepless. She had begged Hiroto to silence Calvin.
She thought if he died, the truth would be buried with him.
She never dreamed that Anneliese would walk away from Zacharias and stand with Jonathan. Now Selina shook with terror. Jonathan was not a man who left stones unturned. He would dig until he found the bones.
Hiroto’s tone softened.
“Calm yourself. Nothing will happen. Don’t let fear eat you alive.”
But her hands trembled. Her face was white as ash. Her lips quivered.
“Uncle, something will happen. Anneliese will never spare me. Jonathan’s punishment will be worse…”
Her voice cracked apart. Her arrogance was gone. Her pride was dust.
The ruin of the Whites burned in her eyes. She had seen the wreckage of the estate. The shattered vases. The stripped rooms. Melanie and her sons, broken and beaten down. The picture would not leave her.
She believed that if Jonathan/wanted to defend Anneliese, it would not matter if she was guilty or not. He would find proof. He would crush her.

Tirur struck a match, lit a cigarette, and drew in deep. Smoke curled in heavy clouds. His gaze locked on her bell what you can in the next few days, I’ll buy plane tickets.”
Selina froze. Plane tickets? Uncle you mean we leave the country? But my parents are still in prison!”
His brow furrowed. His tone grew sharp with impatience. “Your mother’s guilt is ironclad. She will never come out. And your father.”
His words cut like steel. His eyes narrowed. “Do you even want him out?”
If Selina had wanted Timothy freed, she would have spoken the day she learned Anneliese was not a White.
But she had stayed silent.
Her eyes flickered. She had wanted Timothy out once, to stop Melanie and her sons from taking what was left.
But she had not expected the Whites to collapse so fast. Their empire fell before she could act.
Now, even if Timothy came back, it would mean nothing. He was split from Melanie and her sons. If he returned, he would lean on her shoulders.
And the debt collectors would swarm.
Hiroto watched her in silence and sighed. “Selina, if we stay, we drown. This city has no place for us. Jonathan is a mountain we cannot climb. Better to leave and breathe free. Once we are settled abroad, we’ll bring your mother when the time comes.”
His mind was already set. He feared the creditors as much as she did.
He had taken his share from White Inc. over the years. In another country, that money would last a lifetime.
Selina clenched her jaw. Her teeth ground hard. “Uncle, I’ll follow your lead. But don’t buy plane tickets. Get ship tickets instead.”
Hiroto slapped his forehead, smoke trailing from his lips. “Of course. You’re right. Jonathan rules the skies. Ships are safer,”
The decision made, Selina’s pulse slowed.
The storm inside her eased a little.
Hiroto pointed his cigarette at her. Keep calm. Do what you always do. Don’t let anyone suspect.”
Selina nodded, her voice steady now. “I understand.”
