**Chapter 508: She Wants Us Dead**
The driver, a shadowy figure behind the wheel, caught Anneliese’s eyes in the rearview mirror. His gaze was sharp, almost predatory, sending a chill down her spine.
Anneliese blinked, startled by the recognition. “Timothy? How did you manage to get out? What is it that you all want from me?”
Timothy appeared gaunt, his once-familiar features now twisted by a brooding darkness that made him seem even more menacing than before.
Before he could respond, a sudden sting exploded across Anneliese’s cheek. Selina’s hand had struck her with a force that left her momentarily stunned.
“You b*tch! Do you honestly think Dad should stay locked away forever?” Selina’s voice dripped with venom, her eyes blazing with fury.
The impact of the slap sent Anneliese’s head reeling to the side, a sharp ringing echoing in her ears, accompanied by a wave of nausea that washed over her.
In that moment of overwhelming emotion, she couldn’t contain herself. Turning sharply, she heaved, the contents of her stomach splattering all over Selina.
“Ah! Anneliese, you did that on purpose!” Selina shrieked, her voice high-pitched with outrage as she shoved Anneliese away, sending her crashing against the car window with a resounding thud.
As Anneliese regained her composure, she glanced up to see Selina frantically stripping off her jacket, her expression a mix of disbelief and anger. A cold laugh escaped Anneliese’s lips, a bitter sound in the tense atmosphere.
“Mr. White,” she taunted, her voice dripping with sarcasm, “have you not bothered to check on your precious daughter Selina since your release? You pampered her, never once letting her face the consequences of her actions. She is your true daughter, yet the moment you were imprisoned, she didn’t lift a finger to help you.
“Instead, she dedicated herself to squabbling with your two sons over the White family fortune. Even when she discovered I wasn’t your biological child, she didn’t bother to go to the police to set the record straight, did she? She…”
“Shut up, Anneliese! Even now, you’re trying to turn us against each other? You really are malicious!”
Selina’s expression shifted, her anger morphing into something darker as she momentarily forgot about the mess on her jacket.
Throwing her jacket onto the floor in disgust, she seized Anneliese’s hair once more, her hand poised to deliver another slap.
But Timothy’s voice cut through the tension like a knife. “That’s enough! I can’t stand this racket any longer. Just stop!”
Selina’s hand froze mid-air, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. She wasn’t sure if Timothy believed Anneliese’s words, but the desperation in her voice was palpable as she pleaded, “Dad, don’t you remember? Anneliese called the police and got you and Mom arrested. She even manipulated Jonathan into pressuring the others not to assist the Whites. If it weren’t for her actions, our family wouldn’t have ended up like this.”
Anneliese, still reeling from the chaos, managed to prop herself up. “I blocked your escape? Leaving Oceaton? What are you talking about?”
The realization hit her like a thunderclap—Selina and her family had been plotting to flee.
Selina glared at Anneliese, her eyes filled with venom. How dare this woman act so innocent when she had sabotaged everything for me?
