Tara sat up at once and got out of bed without any trouble this time.

She couldn't bring herself to look at Lance and said, "I'll… leave now."

She heard him hum a response and paused. She asked, "About that… I haven't made up my mind yet. Could you keep some distance from me in front of others?"

Lance lowered his gaze, his voice dropping a notch. "What's the reason?"

Tara hurriedly explained, "I'm still working here. It wouldn't look good…"

Lance understood.

"Make your decision soon."

Tara nodded quickly and rushed out of his room. It was just after 3:00 pm, so it wasn't too late.

She walked downstairs and acted like nothing had happened. Since there wasn't much work to do, no one noticed she had disappeared.

She returned to her room and changed out of her work uniform. Not only was it somewhat wrinkled, but she felt a little clammy all over.

Tara blushed and patted her forehead, trying to block out the images in her head.

She took a quick shower and put on a fresh uniform before heading back to work.

While she kept her hands busy, her mind was a tangled mess. She had planned to disappear after three months, but now she might have to leave early.

Lance and Soren were both coming on too strong, and Tara couldn't handle it. But still, she didn't know if leaving early would mean breaking free from the original story.

"Tara, where were you earlier?" Betty had gone looking for Tara after her break but couldn't find the latter anywhere in the villa.

Tara pretended nothing happened and said, "I overslept a little and forgot to tell Mr. Oakley."

Betty didn't question Tara's explanation. She said a little wistfully, "Stella left."

Even Hailey, who had always given Betty a hard time, suddenly became easier to get along with. Suddenly, Betty felt like she could finally breathe.

As Tara cut some fruits, she gave Betty a quiet hum. Stella had left without a word. It surprised Tara, but she had been too caught up to think about it.
