No one knew how much time had passed before the sound of running water echoed from the bathtub in the bathroom.
Still groggy with sleep, Tara was pulled into Lance's arms by the waist.
The midday sun streamed through the cracks in the curtains, casting light into the dim room. She turned over and curled up against him.
Then something occurred to her. She reached out and brushed her hand across his firm, sculpted chest.
Any trace of sleep vanished instantly.
She quickly pulled away, and Lance's strikingly handsome face came into view.
He had already woken up at some point and was watching her silently. In a husky voice, he said, "It's already noon. You should get up and eat something."
Tara was too embarrassed to respond. "You…"
Lance, seeing she was still in shock, chuckled. "We're a couple. What happened last night will happen often from now on."
Tara didn't know what to do. Her mind was a mess. She had become his girlfriend overnight.
"I… I'm going to brush my teeth."
Even though they had already been intimate, she still couldn't face him properly. The way he looked at her made it impossible to meet his eyes.
She slipped on her nightgown and got out of bed, planning to change after washing up. But the moment her feet hit the floor, her legs gave out.
She gave Lance a flustered glare, which only made him laugh.
He began, "Last night—"
Tara lunged forward and covered his mouth. "Don't say another word."
She could have died from embarrassment.
Lance smiled and gently pulled her hand down. "Anything you say."
Tara quickly got up again and headed into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, rinsed her mouth, and picked up a towel to wash her face.
Lance leaned lazily against the doorframe, watching her through the mirror. His ridiculously good looks and magnetic presence made her blush.
Thinking he wanted to use the bathroom too, she said, "I'm almost done. Just wait a bit."
Instead, Lance walked over and hugged her from behind. Despite what had happened between them, Tara still wasn't used to his sudden displays of affection.
