The CEO's private elevator doors slid shut just as the one Tara had been waiting for opened. Within moments, every elevator was packed, and the once-crowded lobby cleared out.

Tara didn't think much of the look Jonah had given her earlier. He was probably just surprised to see her at headquarters.

Left without a choice, Tara went out by herself to the supermarket to pick up some fruits and snacks.

As she pushed her shopping cart down the aisles, she grabbed two of everything in the snack section—one for herself and one for Alice.

When she turned into the next aisle, she suddenly came face-to-face with someone she never expected to see.

Stella was walking beside a man, laughing and chatting with him. But the moment she saw Tara, the smile on her delicate face disappeared. It was replaced by a wary look. It was as if she didn't want the man with her to notice Tara.

Tara glanced at the man beside Stella. He was tall and good-looking, but his complexion was unnaturally pale, and the hollows beneath his eyes were tinged with a bluish hue.

Stella tightened her grip on his arm and quickly led him away in the opposite direction.

The man, Lucas Larsen, was clearly annoyed. "Where are you going now?" he asked.

"Lucas, I don't feel like getting those snacks anymore. Let's just pick up some fruits and head home," Stella said.

As the two of them disappeared from view, Tara was still a little taken aback. Stella was actually dating someone who wasn't the male lead of the story.

She was curious, but it did not have anything to do with her anymore. As far as she was concerned, she was completely out of the story's plot now.

She then wandered through the supermarket. It wasn't until she got to the checkout that she realized she had bought too much.
