Chapter 243
Chapter 243
Two royal guards dragged Priscilla off.
Priscilla still clung to a sliver of hope, maybe the King was merely jesting.
But then, belatedly, she remembered what Waldo had once told her, “The king’s word is law.”
If the King decreed castration, then castration it would be. His commands were absolute and unchangeable.
She thought, ‘They’re actually going to castrate me!‘
Priscilla screamed, “No! You can’t! You can’t do this to me!”
Terrified, she thrashed wildly, pleading, “Your Majesty! Your Majesty! I’m Waldo’s beloved, I’m his woman, your future daughter–in–law, Your Majesty!”
No one paid her any heed. Becoming the King’s daughter–in–law was no easy feat.
Though initially shocked by the mention of castration and feeling some pity for Priscilla, everyone now realized, upon hearing her foolish words, that she’d brought this fate upon herself.
“Your Majesty! Your Majesty!” Priscilla cried out, but the King ignored her completely.
Now truly panicked, her terrified gaze finally fell on Jessica.
Priscilla shrieked at Jessica, “Jessica! How could you do this to me? Waldo will never forgive you, he’ll hate you till the day he dies!
“Jessica! Do you still want to marry Waldo? If you truly wish to wed Waldo, then get the King to revoke his decree! Jessica…
“Jessica, damn you! Jessica… help me, save me, please! I’m begging you, please save me, please…”
Her cries faded into the distance.
Jessica stood firm, unfazed.
The King’s face betrayed no emotion.
Adele remained shaken.
Finally, Andrew spotted Markus arriving with the Royal Guards and immediately broke the tense silence: “Your Majesty, Commander Byrd is here!”
The King felt a sudden jolt.
Adele seemed to finally snap out of her daze and urged, “Jessica, you’ve seen the wolves and know where they’re hiding. Hurry, lead Commander Byrd to save Waldo!”
Adele was troubled by what had happened to Priscilla
‘Even though I never liked her, Waldo adores her!‘ she thought with a pang of guilt.
To stand by and watch Priscilla be sentenced to such a terrible punishment without intervening, she felt that Waldo would be heartbroken. He mig
even hate her for this.
But now, none of that mattered. All that mattered was that Waldo returned safely.
Adele cried urgently, “Jessica, go at once…
Jessica looked up, meeting the King’s barely concealed anxious gaze. “Your Majesty, I do wish to help rescue Waldo, but the court’s whispers are

daunting, and I am truly afraid.”
“What on earth do you want?” Adele finally snapped, shooting to her feet and jabbing a finger at Jessica. “Jessica, do you really think the world revolves around you? You…”
Jessica replied calmly, “Priscilla was punished because she harmed my brother first. His Majesty wasn’t showing me any favoritism, he simply acted with impartial justice.”
Her words left Adele completely speechless.
She thought, ‘If someone ever hurt my Waldo the way Priscilla ruined Garbisch’s life, I’d make them pay tenfold, even if it cost me everything
From this perspective, Jessica wasn’t wrong at all, Priscilla brought all this upon herself.
Jessica thought to herself, ‘I don’t start fights, but I finish them, and if anyone crosses me, I’ll make them pay tenfold!”
But with Waldo’s life hanging in the balance, Adele was torn with anxiety.
Adele was on the verge of tears, her voice trembling with desperation. “What will it take for you to go in? Just tell me!”
